I wanted Sheppard to develop. I liked Dayon with his size and scoring. I understand coach needs his own players but mike white had some talent...
I don't understand that at all. I've never seen this happen at LA Tech before. Tremendous loss of investment in terms of time and money spent on these kids who are bailing out; and what makes you think the New Melvins coming in will want to want to play for Konkol any more than the ones who are leaving or wanting to leave after his first year ??
Konkol isn't pushing players out who want to be here and replacing them with his own recruits. If the guys wanted to be here and wanted to play for him, they would be here playing for him. Richard coached here for 9 years. There was a purging when Rupp took over. When MW got here...we only really had 3 players with talent, and two had not yet developed. This whole transferring plague in men's basketball I think really only started in the last 10 years or so...but I could be wrong. That's why it seems like you haven't seen it at Tech.
The difference is that Konkol has developed a relationship with them, and they want to play for him. The guys leaving signed up to play for MW. Furthermore, while they will be behind in development compared to the ones leaving...I am certain we will see them as an upgrade. We may be a year away, but we will be happy with our team.
Jean, Boykins, Davis, McCree, and Sherman seems to be a good starting 5.
I'm sure the "Mike White" players are tired of winning lots of games and not going to the NCAA tourney too. By transferring they might get into the NCAA tournament- same mistake Olu Ashaolu made.
That's not why Stapleton transferred. He, his momma, and his handler were hongry for something that had nothing to do with team.

At least this time it wasn't in a pickup game. I still feel bad for the kid. He likely won't have the same "ups" he used to have. Plus, he always jumped from that leg...which was his major weakness...being he couldn't get "ups" from the other leg.
