Just heard that we might have a transfer from University of Texas. Supposed to make a decision this week. On the defensive side of the ball. Have to believe he would be helpful. Great how we are developing a reputation as a great place to transfer to. With the NFL draft this year that should really be a selling point.
I'm guessing that it's this guy: Bryson Echols. He'll be a graduate transfer from UT pursuing a Masters Degree. He's a 5'10, 180 lb, CB.

A member of the 2012 recruiting class for Texas, Echols was a consensus four-star prospect, the No. 175 player overall, the No. 13 cornerback, and the No. 25 player in Texas, according to the 247Sports Composite rankings. Like many players at the time, Echols committed to the Longhorns at a Junior Day over offers from Arizona, Kansas, and North Texas. By the end of his high school career, he was an Under Armour All-American after recording 128 tackles, nine INTs, 38 PBUs and three fumble recoveries during his three seasons as a starter for DeSoto.

It is 6-3 250 MLB Dalton Santos. He didn't play last year due to a broken ankle. He could play MLB or DE. Hopefully Manny Diaz doesn't get him.

Maybe Diaz turned him on to us/TECH. We are the up and coming premier university to transfer to.
BTW this kid was an absolute beast at Van H.S. here in E. Texas!! And I bet he will be again at TECH.
Fifth-year senior Dalton Santos won't be able to solve the issues for the Texas Longhorns at middle linebacker, as the Van product announced on Monday that he will transfer to another school for his final season of eligibility. The decision comes after the coaching staff held annual post-spring meetings with players over the last week.

Santos has indicated three transfer options- Miami (where Manny Diaz is at now), Miss St (where Diaz was prior to Miami), LA Tech (where Diaz was before Miss St). He is very close to Diaz, so that is likely our biggest competition. However, in 2014 his mother had a very serious illness; hopefully one of the big reasons for the transfer is to be closer to home. If Diaz doesn't take him hopefully he will swing him our way as a favor to Skip Holtz. It also helps that Tech is recruiting Dalton's younger brother (a HS senior OL/Center).
If he wants to play this year, you would think Tech would be #1 on the list. We need help at LB this year.
