Keenan Reynolds/Kenneth Dixon (179 touchdowns in the same room)

I'm actually surprised more people aren't talking about this.

    Pardon my ignorance, but ...

Shouldn't Reynolds be on a boat somewhere?

Guess he'll have to set up recruiting kiosks at each game . . . . (Respectfully said).

I think there are ways to let him do his time as a reservist.

As long as he behaves himself, I think he could be a valuable recruiting tool for the US Navy.

Uttering this and saying "US Navy sailor" is an oxymoron!

I do believe he should be made to serve out his active duty like Roger Staubach, David Robinson and others did. He was given 4 years of free quality education on the promise he would serve his country in a positive way. Playing football is not serving his country. I just wonder if someone who graduated Magna Cum Laude from the Naval Acadamy was given the same opportunity.....go to work making a living vs. serving his country on active duty. I think not.

I agree. Reynolds received a free 4-year college education at the hands of U.S. taxpayers. "Behaving himself" should not be the measuring stick for payback. Why should Reynolds' NFL career aspirations be treated any different or considered more important than any other Navy grad's career aspirations? Yet, the other grads will have to put their hopes and dreams on hold while Reynolds plays football.

This whole "it's good for recruiting" thing is absurd. As an American taxpayer, I don't give a crap if it's "good for recruiting" or not. I don't turn to the US Naval Academy for my college football entertainment. Their mission is different, and should be different. It's a higher, and much different calling.

I never said he shouldn't have to honor his commitment. I said as long as he behaves himself. In other words, if he's made to serve if he doesn't act like a spoiled brat and try every way possible to get out of it, and in the meanwhile turning it into a media spectacle.
As far as recruiting, go back and look at Navy recruiting in the late 80's-early 90's. David Robinson was used as a recruiting tool. In the 11th grade, his face was on the flyer I got from the Navy the day I took my ASFAB.
