Now is the time to play Rice. They're on a 5 game losing streak after giving up 60 runs in their last 5 games.

    Heck of a deal!

Don't buy chair backs unless you need to lean back. Location is not worth it.

Is there a way to watch the CUSA tournament without buying a monthly subscription to CUSA DN? WatchESPN seemingly has every other conference tourney besides CUSA...

    Re: C-USA Baseball Championship Tournament

    Here is our schedule

    Wed, 05/25/16 Rice 9:00 a.m. CT C-USA DN
Thurs, 05/26/16 Charlotte or Florida Atlantic Lose G1 9:00 a.m.
    Win G1 4:00 p.m. CT
    C-USA DN
    Fri, 05/27/16 Rice/Charlotte/FAU (if necessary) 3:00 p.m. C-USA DN
    Sat, 05/28/16 Rice/Charlotte/FAU (if necessary) 9:00 a.m. C-USA DN
    Sat, 05/28/16 Rice/Charlotte/FAU (if necessary) 4:00 p.m. C-USA DN
Sun, 05/29/16 Conference USA Championship 1:00 p.m. CT CBS SN

For RPI purposes, we need to beat Rice & hope FAU wins. Then hope Rice beats charlotte. We don't want to play them and their 150+ rpi. I know we are "solidly" in NCAAs, but I don't want to take any chances.

This is how the CWS is set up (except the championship is a best-of-3 series). I don't like it or understand it. Seventy-five percent of the field will not play one another. I liked it much better when it was a true, 8-team, double-elimination bracket. Have an undefeated team out of the winners' bracket and a team from the losers' bracket that has to win twice in other to be crowned champion!

As you know, it's what C-USA has to do to get our single appearance on national TV. Better than ESPN3 I reckon...

I sure do agree with this. It was very fun watching teams work their way through the loser's bracket. Playing everyday, using their bullpen, scraping for any advantage.

    Yes -

And all teams should make the field - in a true double-elimination tourney it gives the stronger teams the advantage in the first round games

I think they destroyed the mystique of the CWS when they went away from the true double elimination format

A new article has been posted on www.latechsports.com:

On the cusp of its first conference tournament appearance since 2012, Louisiana Tech will be in a little bit of unfamiliar territory when the Bulldogs open play in the 2016 Conference USA Championship at 9 a.m. Wednesday opposite the Rice Owls.
