Death penalty for Baylor football. In fact, throw in WBB too.
Have you seen some of the reports? It's worse than imagined. Violet attacks, sexual assaults!?? Not just "Oh come, baby, you can't say no to a football player. Don't you know we matter, and you don't!" Nope, not just "forceful" behavior in a coercion way, oh no, we are talking about physical, over-powering assaults!
Who knew about all of this, and when did they know it? The Univ Prez and now the head football coach have been canned, but this points to institutional failure of the worst kind....of the Penn State kind. Now, maybe in Baylor's case, all the victims were 18 years old, or older, not just young kids, but still....
This ain't good.
I don't watch television at all and only read one article about it. It appears to be allegations only in the article I read. Has anything been proven?

The Penn St. comparison is interesting, because I'm waiting to see what the NCAA does to Baylor. What Sandusky did was "off the field," and so is this, but both are serious problems. In the Penn State case a lot of people were upset because the current (at that time) players were punished for the sins of a former assistant coach. I didn't have a huge problem with that because anything the NCAA did would have punished the current guys. There is no way to go back and punish someone for something that happened in the 70s. In the Baylor case, the current players and coaches are the ones guilty of the conduct, and they deserve severe punishment. Lack of Institutional Control seems to be an accurate description of this situation. If the NCAA goes light on Baylor, it proves that the bias that we have always suspected. On the other hand, if they go light on Baylor, Penn State has the right to raise hell.
Sooner, I am aware of at least one occasion where a female student complained to the university and they did nothing. She filed a police report and the player was later found guilty, and is serving a prison sentence. The school still did nothing, and she is currently suing Baylor. Lots of dirty hands in this deal.
I'm glad they got a conviction and he is serving time. Rape is horrible to even think about. I couldn't imagine having to endure it.
With that said, I really am totally uninformed, so don't read anything into this question other than wanting to know what the fuss is about. How was it Baylor's fault that a girl got raped.

Baylor probably deserves at least the same as what Penn St received. We shall see.
Baylor isn't being blamed for the sexual assault, per se. They had an environment that allowed it to happen. What I mean by this is Baylor gave athletes (and others) the impression that it was okay for the athletes (and others) to have their way and there would be negligible (if any) consequences. Afterall, Baylor found Ukwuachu* (a player) innocent of sexual assault and ignored a similar case from when he was kicked off and out from Boise State. Another player, Elliot*, was also found innocent by Baylor of assaulting up to five women but found guilty by the courts.
Basically, Baylor is getting hammered for the active cover up, neglect, and overall incompetence. Baylor vaguely (as in no details given) admitted that they did everything wrong.
*Doesn't add anything toknow this but Ukwuachu never played a down for Baylor, and Elliot played in 25 games over two season.
