Baseball Season Far Exceeded My Expectations

My primary expectation for the 2016 baseball season was to finish in the top 8 in the conference just to make the conference tournament. Wow, did we ever get so much more than that. We made the conference tournament AND the NCAA tournament.

I was hoping for an above .500 record. We got 42 wins with 20 losses or .677 win percentage. In conference, 19 wins 11 losses for a .633 win percentage.

I was hoping for a top 100 RPI. We were in the low 30's in RPI.

We played exciting baseball. Longtime fans got very excited. Many new fans joined in on the fun.

It was a great season for our DAWGS. I couldn't be more happy. Now, my expectations for next season will be much higher than they were for this season.

May buy a couple despite not being able to use them as a personal thank you to Coach Goff.

Long time LSU fan (Don't hate), current Tech student. As a guy that watched almost every lsu game the past two seasons. I found myself rooting LA Tech and really not wanting to watch LSU. Didn't think this would happen.

We need to set goals of selling out the Love Shack and work towards renovating/expanding the park. Maybe work towards expanding to 4-5k in a few years.

We have plenty of seating for now. Not that we shouldn't be planning ahead. Our AD said on the radio this morning that we had capacity crowds toward the end of the year. We never did. When the average crowd exceeds 2000 then we should start talking expansion.

We need game day perfection on the simple things like concessions, PA system, etc.

IMO, something down the RF line beyond the 1B dugout should be our first project.

Focus on what we have and improve the existing FIRST -

Would like a new PA system and improved scoreboard

Place some emphasis on the right field rowdies area

Then as MD said - something down the right field line and then maybe something above the wall in left field

RICE and USM in conference are the only draws and USL and nlu are the only OOC draws right now

My seats are finally becoming valuable

I'm talking about planning ahead. We need a road map of where we want to go with Love Field. Are we happy at 3k or do we want to grow?

Concessions, PA, could be resolve quickly (but with our athletic administration, I don't know why it takes so long or something they can't figure out fixing).

The reasons things didn't get fixed this year...

1)Aramark is in charge of concessions.

2)Our budget is bare bones. We will have to go "grass roots" to improve baseball w/out putting equal money across the street.

Everyone on here knows that I am a football and basketball guy. This baseball team got me excited this year and gave me something for the Spring to look forward to now!!!!!! THANK YOU DAWGS for helping me appreciate a great baseball game! I will always follow all Tech sports, but count me as a new fan now. It wasn't the record or the tournament that did it. It was the FIGHT in these players and this team that did it. That will always get me going!

Yeah, i would love to see the on campus marketing increase so that more people are as amped as i am. Things I'm looking forward to in the 2016-2017 sports calendar, 1. Boston Scott being a bowling ball just like Moats
    2. Braden Bristo, Winning Pitcher of the year. (conference and more)
    3. Trent Taylor and X getting winning national awards.
    4. Winning the Conference basketball tournament.
    5. beating Arkansas in football (Choo Choo Mother F@#$%^ HERE COMES SKIPPY AND HIS BAND OF BROTHERS)
    6. Watching Ryan Higgins go ape. (based on what has been posted it could happen)
    7. Beating ULL and ULM in everything

I'm not happy I want to see a clouds of grill smoke and loud music, I wish for a minor league atmosphere.
