    Re: Summer assignments

I've had the same question about Tech players participating in college summer leagues. It's a good opportunity for position players. I'm not really sure that pitchers should play summer ball. My thinking is that a rest may be better.

The MLB draft starts Thursday. Which Tech players will be drafted?

I could See Bristo getting drafted in the late rounds. I sure hope not, because if he can control his emotions and work on command of the zone. There's not a better pitcher in the state going into next season.

Next year we are loaded with talent and experience. However, the year after there will be a total turnover. Gonna need some underclassmen to get some valuable experience next year.

    Re: Summer assignments

All of our players who have completed their junior year are eligible to be drafted by MLB. I don't know if any of our returning players are likely to be drafted or not, but if they are drafted that generally indicates that they have told the drafting team of their interest in signing. MLB teams don't generally waste draft choices on players who have not indicated they will sign. Rarely does a player get drafted in an early round and not sign. Keep an eye on the draft to see if any of our players are drafted.

Following is a link to a report showing the signing bonuses paid to 2015 draftees. http://m.mlb.com/news/article/130246...-bonus-tracker

No assignment for Sutton or Bristo? I thought with the success we had at least one of our guys might get a shot at the big leagues in Cape Cod. I thought Lunceford and Sutton would be candidates.
