yeah, you shouldn't. This just shows that the people who climbed on the 2 o'clock press conference thing got lucky that it actually ended up happening that way. There was a whole lot of stuff still going on that could have derailed that. The responsible media outlets backed away from that and waited for something concrete.
Good old Memorial Gym
alot of "they say" and he is "their Barmore"-so are you all saying every coach we hire loves it here, but don't stay because of $$$? But, they are paying enough in Lafayette and they love it there too. My point, whatever it is, they have stable athletic programs on a pretty consistent basis. Our golf and tennis coaches had good seasons-any rumors about them.

I don't believe a word they state at ULL or in Lafayette.
I do believe OK Davis though. His comments below are great news and again shows LG's committment.
o.k. davis @OdavisO
Sources close to La Tech BB program said school had matched initial 'Bama offer of 300K, but then Tide upped it to 450K and Goff took it.
At first, I thought this was a stupid move. He is in a position to make $300K plus for the next 20 years in Ruston, or, he can take a risk for $450K and probably get canned in 3 to 5 years.
Well....after going over to Bama's baseball site, http://www.rolltide.com/sports/m-bas...sebl-body.html, and seeing that they've only had two coaches over the past 22 years, Goff easily made the right choice.
Jim Wells made the tournament 12 of 15 years, http://www.rolltide.com/sports/m-bas...090109aaa.html.
And Gaspard in 4 of 7 years, http://www.rolltide.com/sports/m-bas...053016aac.html.
The only strike against Gaspard is that his SEC record was generally at .500 during his years. Despite this, he still made the tournament.
Goff should do very well there.
Also, it is a NO BRAINER that Goff can get to the WS from Bama easier than from Ruston, simply because the SEC will get at least 10 auto-bids every year. Once you're in, anything can happen.
