Its good for him to be that excited
LA Tech football legacy Josh Motes (OG 6-3 280 Oak Grove HS) is our 7th commit for 2017. His dad, Mike, played OL for Tech in the 1990's.

Per Jonathan Ford on Twitter today Oklahoma WR Adrian Hardy (6'-3" 185) has transferred to LA Tech.
He signed with OU this Spring, but decided he didn't want to play there this Summer. Stoops released him to sign with any non B12 school. He will be a true Freshman this year at Tech.

- Watching Hardy’s highlights there is a lot to like. He has a big, athletic body with impressive lateral movement and vision. Love his ability to make defenders miss in the open field and the small space, quick twitch ability that also allows him to be tough to tackle one-on-one. Has great feet, balance, and body control you don’t normally see from such a big kid. Has a nice initial burst and, at times, shows the speed to run away from defenders on film. That said, he does seem to be lacking that true extra gear. Good, but not great speed. You also have love the fact he plays QB in a spread system, which means he would most likely have at least somewhat of an understanding for the receiver position in Riley’s offense – how to find windows, the route tree, etc. – (Alex)
– This is a special football player. As Alex said above, he doesn’t have elite speed but he has elite lateral movement and perhaps most importantly instincts. This is the kind of player TCU would normally recruit to play safety in their 4-2-5. They are notorious for finding big athletic running QBs and switching them play that defensive spot. Those kind of guys, for various, reasons have the ability to give you a run stopping in the box type safety presence and a cover guy. They are also required to make the calls and coaches love guys who have built the trust of their HS coaches which is evidenced by the fact that they handle the ball. I’m sure the offensive guys will fight for Hardy but I’m hoping he ends up on the defensive side of the ball. – (Super K)
Interesting. He was released from his LOI and since he had not attended class(?) he didn't use up any eligibility. I assume he could play for us this year?
This is the kind of thing that only a guy like HCSH can make happen. I'm betting his relationship with Stoops was a big part of it.
Yes, he can play this year... or redshirt too. It's like we signed him this Spring.
Here is JFord's free writeup. Hardy never actually attended OU so he is eligible to play immediately for us if he can beat somebody out for a backup slot. He was a QB in HS in Houston- check out the video at the bottom of Ford's article. Very impressive wheels. and RIDICULOUSLY athletic body control.
