If you are thinking about cutting cable and going to an streaming service, but don't know which one to choose, Suppose.tv is a great source.

You input the channels you want and it sorts your options by price. It also lists Free trial offers and device offers (Fire TV, roku, etc).

Simple explanation please. I don’t want to go back through the whole thread. If I want to buy Roku or similar, will it eat so much data that I pay just as much as I did for Direct? Will it work on a 100MB connection or will I have to upgrade to 300MB? Do you have to have a setup for each tv?

you do have to have a setup for each tv. Can be purchased for as little as 30 bucks per tv, but if you have 4K probably want to spend a little more. I spend a whole lot less since dropping DirectTV, but I was already paying for highest level internet. Directv with Sunday ticket down to streaming and roku saved me about 170 bucks per month and I can still stream Sunday ticket for 100 bucks per season.

Playstation Vue is shutting down 1/30/20 In my opinion, this was the best cable alternative. I've used it for several years (once it was available on Roku). I think Sony screwed themselves by calling it "PlayStation Vue" instead of "Sony Vue." I'm sure most consumers assumed you needed a PlayStation. Now I have to research the others again and see what's best.

Don't get the cheapest rokus like I did. Spend a little more to get better access to TV control

Never tried Fire stick (almost got one at one point due to Roku not having a channel). I do have a first gen chromecast I use from time to time

I use a Chromecast stick for the big screen in the office conference room. Allows anyone who can open a tab in Chrome (eg. image, PDF, etc) to share it with the group.

Of course there's plenty other solutions to do that, but the Chromecast was cheap and easy to set up.
