Somebody's gonna need to dumb this thread down a little for me.

I could look up everything mentioned to get the answer, but not right now...

The qualifier for me is from my first question. If I don't have Comcast for wifi and decided to use a "connect device" what is the best option?

Not going to be getting rid of cable for a while due to need for wifi and need for numerous TVs. New question...

If I don't want to rent another digital or HD box from Comcast ($10ish/mo) along with running new cable, which of the above discussed devices will work best for my outside television which will have unlimited wifi access.

I've had good experiences with AppleTV, Amazon FireTV Stick & Xbox One. I can recommend any of those.

So buy a Smart TV for outside or go cheap on the outside TV and buy a Roku?
