Involve the students more by letting them interact the scene from 300 before the game.

    - Post game fireworks (win, lose, or draw - its entertainment not celebration)
    - Pregame/halftime/post game concerts
    - Celebrity sightings/autograph sessions (athletes, celebrity chefs, tv/movie stars even some not dressed in camo)
    - Real cooking competitions (steaks, wings, ribs sanctioned by a sanctioning organization. Google Steak Cookoff Association)
    - More athletic team reunions with fan mixers pre-game
    - Tshirt cannons
    - Vuvuzelas

    1. New Sound System, not sure what Daktronics installed in there, it sounds bad.
It used to sound great when we first got it, IIRC. Problem is, whoever is running it is terrible at using an EQ. The bass is turned down so low it sounds like a gigantic tweeter.

I would enjoy giving a sideline microphone to somebody like Ryan Moats or Quinton Patton or Speedy and letting them do a little MIKED' UP stuff. That might not work but those guys have enough charisma to pull it off. Heck, I'd even invite Quinton to ring the bell (if we he's free on a bye week). I was thinking that if they sold beer, they might want to consider some low to moderate alcohol daiquiris just to appeal to a broad range of folks. Personally, I have never gotten drunk from a daiquiri.

Re: How would you improve the product (entertainment value) of LaTech football?

The quickest way to improve the football Product at LA Tech is through "Best Brands" scheduling.

    * LA Tech should schedule at least 6 home games each year.
    * Four will be CUSA games, with 3 against CUSA west teams and a crossover game that includes Marshall and WKU rotating to Ruston every year.
    * Sticking with the "Best Brands" theory, Tech should petition CUSA to schedule Marshall for Tech's "permanent crossover game" in CUSA.
    * No more FIU, FAU, Charlotte or UAB in Ruston. Nobody wants to see them.
    * Set the schedule so that LA Tech plays Marshall at home one year, and Southern Miss at home the next.
    * The 5th home game in Ruston should always be against a P5 or at worst, an AAC school.
    * The 6th home game should be against NSU/or Southern/or ULM every year for the foreseeable future. No more S Carolina State, Nicholls St. or SFA.

Yes, I included ULM in the "FCS" rotation. Why? Because NSU/Southern/ULM have all proven to draw big LA Tech crowds in Ruston.

This simple "Best Brand" scheduling strategy will leave LA Tech playing 3 CUSA games, one P5 or AAC school, one game against either NSU/Southern or ULM and one CUSA game against Marshall or S Miss at home every year. IMO, that's a big IMPROVEMENT over our current home schedule.

    Improved cellular service...

    Clean restrooms

    Cold fast concessions

    More give-a-ways

Fireworks - for $60,000 a year we could put on a post game fireworks display that would last about 15 to 20 minutes after each game - which would equate into selling about 3,000 tickets over 5 or 6 games @ $20 a pop to cover the cost - which I think we would more than recoup. If they NEED help with this, I think Tech77 and myself can set them up with a vendor that provides A+ service and excellent shows

BEER sales - just do it, north endzone would be the prime place as well as the DAC and new west suites
    ''Don't be a bad dagh..."

Agree with all of the above.

    Concessions:

    - Definitely need to improve the temperature of the drinks. Icing down right before game time is not sufficient. Ice is another issue altogether, although that did improve some this last season.
    - More options. It doesn't have to be fancy, it's just that people might be worn out on the same old popcorn, nachos, hot dogs, pizza, and misc snacks. How about chicken on a stick? Looking at you Raising Canes. How about a sausage dog? McCain farms makes killer sausage and is literally 15 miles away. You could even call it the Bull Dog™. I get that a lot of folks eat at Argent or a tailgate during pregame, but for those of us who don't tailgate all day, a few extra options at the stadium would be great.

More giveaways for sure. Especially for students. Signed memorabilia, gift certificates, cash, doesn't matter. Get some sponsors to donate some swag and just call a seat number. It's not hard. People love free crap.

On beer sales, I know I chimed in previously, but I've given it even more though. I'm sure there are multiple barriers to entry for this, but S/BC and M/WM have several really good microbreweries who could benefit from having a booth set up during games. Great Raft, Flying Heart, Red River Brewing, Flying Tiger, Ouachita Brewing, etc. Gives them a chance to sell more product and gain more local exposure, and our fans get to support a local business and drink good beer at the same time.

Sell an over-the-top food item. Example from minor league Wilmington Blue Rocks:

I agree with everything Dwayne has said including his scheduling recommendations.

    I vote yes to beer.

Talked to the guy at Red River and he said they are interested in crafting a specific LaTech beer and calling it "Champ" or something. It would be fairly mild and drinkable. Apparently, a brewery down in Lafayette did this with ULL and both the school and the brewery are making a killing from it.

Re: How would you improve the product (entertainment value) of LaTech football?

    Quick fixes:
More promotion. Nothing on campus screams "come to the game!!!" every game week. Maybe for the season opener, and maybe for homecoming, but not every game.
Getting more people to the games is key. It creates an atmosphere that makes people want to come back.
Can we get food vendors that aren't through Aramark? I know there is Johnny's at the game, but is that still through Aramark? This will come up later in my post as well.

    More expensive fixes
    (but quickly doable):

Fix parking. Have they considered putting a parking garage near the stadium? Parking all the way on campus to go to the game is pretty far, we have the space to make parking.

New Press box, thats happening! But also make very good renovations to both sides so that...

    Long term goal:
When we can get to a point where we sell out each game, the next step is to get money to build something for the fans that are now reliably supporting the program. Connect the two halves of the stadium on the North End zone. Something grand! A new "main" entrance facility at the North. Have a full time merchandise shop. Allow a spot for a restaurant to move in, and lease it to them year round at a decent rate. (why I asked about the food vendors). Have it increase capacity by 5-10K people. I made a microsoft paint sky-view of what I'd think it could look like, without even changing the jumbotron. I dont know how I can add the picture.
