Because this is a simple task to accomplish and it shows professionalism (or lack thereof). Today we are the ONLY FBS program in the country with a 2015 football roster still showing on our website. Excuse you, but I am not ok with half-assed anything in my personal life, my businesses, or anything else I'm involved in...including my alma mater. I simply asked why some of you guys make such a big deal about heights and weights when there are so many other things to prioritize first IMO. I asked so I could understand why an additional 10lbs seems to be such meaningful info to some. So if that's what you inferred from my question, your skill set needs some work.
Furthermore, I said nothing about having a 2015 roster still up. And I asked nothing about whether or not heights and weights were listed correctly. It's annoying to me, too.

It's for when you see a Jaylon Ferguson go from 225 to 256. When you see ladante Davenport go from 258 to 303. When you see Michael mims switch to LB and go from 198 to 212.
Size usually goes hand in hand with strength once you get to a college weight program.
I prefer all our opponents think guys like Mims are 198 until they get blown out of their shoes by a guy who is really 215!

If our coaches / SID are sandbagging, why's that bad?
They've done it before. maybe the guys want to get credit for their hard work. Maybe they want a scout to take them more serious.

When a scout is at a practice I guarantee you they're looking for size. Pretty important at the next level

When a scout is at a practice looking for size, he isn't reading the heights and weights off Tech's website or media guide. He is talking to coaches, specifically Hester, and doing his own measurements if necessary. If a scout is NOT at practice and wants to know, he will call the coaches. He will do those things instead of looking at our website or media guide because it IS so important. That is my point.
How do you know this? I guess you're a little more plugged into the scouting world than me.
Either way, if we're producing a document that's meant to be current then it should have as current information as possible.
I used to read a lot and ask questions. Then I realized it was easier just to make stuff up.
