July 23 Fan Day at the Dicks Sporting Goods in Shreveport from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Northeast Louisiana will have another Fan Day coming to them when ESPN 97.7 FM joins the LA Tech caravan on Aug. 6 at Dicks Sporting Goods in Monroe from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

But you highlighted a recurring problem with Tech's marketing. These people in Ruston still don't understand our market. Around here there's a big difference between Shreveport and Bossier and Haughton. This reminds me of the "Shreveport is Bulldog Country" billboard they put up in Haughton and the Airline HS in Shreveport promos. These things matter.

From a marketing perspective, there's not that much difference between Shreveport, Bossier and Haughton. At least not for the product we are selling.
When Tech identifies them incorrectly, it matters. Freedom Fields is in Bossier, not Shreveport. Since when is First Baptist Bossier in Shreveport? The Bossier Civic Center is obviously in Bossier, not Shreveport. Airline HS is in Bossier, not Shreveport. The CenturyLink Center is in Bossier, not Shreveport. The Louisiana Boardwalk is in Bossier, not Shreveport. Haughton is in Haughton, not Shreveport. Tech incorrectly refers to all these places as being in Shreveport. These are simple things that apparently those in Ruston are clueless about. Tech is trying to market to these areas but can't tell their left from their right. It makes Tech look totally out of touch to people who live here.
And while Haughton is of course the "upscale" market, we really don't mind Bossier and Shreveport riding our coattails.
Oh, come on. EVERYONE knows where Freedom Fields complex is located. Elessewe does.

I have it on good authority that the New Orleans airport is actually located in Kenner.
Moreover, the New York Giants play their home games in New Jersey.
They both self-identify that way. None of those I mentioned self-identify as being in Shreveport. Big difference.
Tech is trying to send fans to a somewhat obscure place like "Freedom Fields in Shreveport" when it's at First Baptist Bossier. That's pretty bad.
