    9/3 at Arkansas - L - Hogs pull away in 4th qtr - 38-24
    9/10 South Carolina State - W - Dawgs win BIG - Like they should - 60-7
    9/17 at Texas Tech - W - UPSET - Dawgs win 30-28
    9/24 at Middle Tennessee - W - Another close road win 35-28
10/1 UTEP - W- We win but keep them around too long in first 3 qtrs - 38-21
10/6 Western Kentucky - W- We win but close 30-27
    10/15 at UMASS - Dogs win BIG - 49-14
    10/22 at FIU - W- Continue win streak 35-14
    10/29 Rice - W- another win - 35-17
11/5 at North Texas - W- We win but have a "what the hell" game - 31-23
11/12 UTSA (HC) - W- This one makes me nervous bc we always seem to have a close one with them - 28-21
11/25 at Southern Miss - L- I hope I am wrong, but the wheels fall off during this game 42-28

10-2 regular season would be great. I honestly think it's the ceiling. 9-3 is probably more like it with a lose to Texas Tech.
    8-4 is mediocre
    7-5 would be a disappointment I think

Re: What are YOUR 2016 LA TECH FOOTBALL Predictions and Why?

Chances of winning (knowing very little about our defense)

    Arkansas: 15%
    SC State: 98%
    Texas Tech: 35%
    MTSU: 50%
    UTEP: 75%
    WKU: 50%
UMass: 80% (this may be the WTH game... long way to go to play)
    FIU: 70%
Rice: 60% (I wonder what they will be like this year)
    UNT: 85%
UTSA: 75% (always a close game for some reason... but new coaching staff now)
    Southern Miss: 50%

The games that will decide good season vs great season: at MTSU, vs WKU, at Southern Miss

I think we'll be fine on defense and at RB. QB is the question mark. I think he has the ability.

I think the games you've listed mean the difference between 7-5 and 10-2. Although if we have trouble with WKU at home mid season we are in for a touch and go second half of the season.

Assuming we don't have another WTF game, either MTSU or SoMiss. Both should be "elite" CUSA teams which we have to travel to play. Both are beatable though if the right scenario happens (MTSU=defense, SoMiss=New Coach, lost more starters than us). I believe we can beat WKU at home, mainly because they have lost their "10-year" starting QB and we both return a decent amount of offensive weapons. Rice should be ours. UTSA and UNT shouldn't be a problem either. UTEP in the West is the only other team which may hurt us (get them at home though). FIU may give us issues, but they lost most of their defense and defensive coordinator, so beyond a WTF game, we should win. With our linebacker transfers, our defense should be pretty stout, hopefully the new secondary starters will be better after getting back-up experience.

    In ranking of difficulty:
    Arkansas
    SoMiss (Rival)
    TexasTech
    MTSU
    WKU (Potential Rivalry)
    UTEP
    Rice (Desired Rivalry)
    FIU
    UTSA (Potential Rivalry)
    UMass
    UNT
    SCSt

I'm concerned with our corners most of all. MT, WKU, and Southern Miss will be a challenge for them. (Playing Texas Tech helps prepare them though).

Arkansas has been known to lay some eggs and not play their best at the beginning of the season.

I would bump it up to...
    Arkansas: 50%

I'll go with 8-4 or 9-3. Ask me again after I see us play at least two games. Arkansas will be tough but Texas Tech is tough at home. Don't sit close to the field. Several years ago they attacked the Aggie fans with the goal posts.

Having watched Arkansas under Bielema for a couple of seasons, I think we are more likely to beat them than to win at Texas Tech. Arkansas has a tendency to have slow starts to the season. They aren't great offensively. They are breaking in a new qb and don't have a proven rb (like us). For some reason, I think we can compete with them. Texas Tech is going to put us in a situation where we'll need 5+ td's just to be in the game.
    Have you considered those Dogs?

I agree with this. I'm not a big believer in the transitive property when it comes to sports, especially season to season, but TT did beat Arkansas last year in Fayetteville. They also beat Kansas State (common 2015 opponent). I think they'll pose a larger challenge than K-State did and probably more than Arkansas will.

Re: What are YOUR 2016 LA TECH FOOTBALL Predictions and Why?

If Tech is going to beat The Hogs it must slow down the Arkansas TE. He will be a mismatch for Ark in most SEC games.

FIU worries me as a conference game.

I'm glad that we catch Middle early - it takes a while to master their new offense.
