Thank you.
First, Isabella was sent there by his employer and had the shortest trip of any media outside of DFW. Why would he deserve any props for just doing his job? But like DFM said, props to Fox, CB, and the sponsors for bringing us C-USA Media Days on the radio. Those are the guys who went out and made it happen, not Isabella.
Second, I heard all the idiotic things Isabella said on the radio. Stupid and condescending. Isabella is an LSU fan who looks down his nose at Tech, and this isn't a new thing. You can read it in the tone of his articles with the unnecessary words he chooses to use. To talk as if Tech doesn't have any fans in Shreveport and saying things like nobody in the Shreveport area watches Tech games on TV is ignorant. Ridiculous comments like that make him lose all credibility and respect. Here are some facts. Tech is so popular in the area that there are six different game watching party locations throughout Shreveport-Bossier. After the first year of ASN, two local Shreveport-Texarkana TV stations got into a bidding war to broadcast Tech's ASN football and basketball games this past year. That tells me that our local TV ratings are pretty darn good. Then there's Shreveport-Bossier's Tech & Tails, a grassroots event that has become the biggest Tech alumni event in only a few years. You can see Tech support throughout Shreveport-Bossier everywhere everyday from car decals, license plates, flags, shirts, caps, wreaths, etc. There is LSU and Tech, and there is no #3 in the area.
Third, he went on to say more stupid things about conference realignment. He talked about how Tech wasn't in the top 4 candidates to move out of C-USA to the AAC but MTSU and WKU were. Again, that's just stupid. WKU is lucky they are even in C-USA because they were the very last of the current 14 teams invited to the conference. MTSU? They were the second to last team invited to C-USA. If those directional colleges are so attractive to the AAC, why were they the very last schools invited to C-USA just a few years ago? Graduating a QB with a PhD and miraculously winning a basketball game doesn't magically move Middle and Western to the top of the pecking order.
