It could be this will be a good excuse to play one of the younger QB's. It could be that Holtz wanted to give Higgins the chance, but if one of the younger QBs really excel, maybe we can actually have continuity in the QB position for 2+ years for a change.

I happen to know some of Higgins's extended family and by all accounts he is regarded as a good kid. He made a terrible mistake, one that many former and future La Tech alumni/students have and will make in our lives, so let's not crucify the young man. Let's give him a chance to make amends for his screw up. I see him being paraded in front of each of the sport teams as well as the local high schools telling his story of how he messed up. He has been a loyal Bulldog during the past 4 years, let's get behind him and give him a chance to make amends.

a senior qb; a "team leader"; right before camp. not really to punish him. I mean I just believe we would be better served letting a younger guy play. and I did dumb stuff in college too; but I never got a DWI or got arrested

Dude. I did all KINDS of dumb stuff in college. I just didn't get caught. Not proud of it, mind you, but to think this junk doesn't happen on every college campus is to be at the very least naïve. I'm just thankful he WAS stopped before he had an accident, possibly killing himself or innocent people.
