don't forget we had field turf years and years ago....and have gone through 2 upgrades I believe.....and our stadium lighting got the new bulbs at the same time we got the first field turf install.
the light upgrade was a $750,000 project itself back in the day.
I like Sean. I've always liked Sean. But it is obvious what north la university has emerged and doesn't need to be compared to the others. The real story is on how north la needs to invest in a university that will do this region the most good. LSU doesn't help us AT ALL! That needs to be said. LaTech is the flagship institution of north la. LSU doesn't care about north la. People in north la will be better served by investing in their flagship.

I appreciate Isabella doing his job in covering Tech. He is at every game/practice and gets information out there. But most every article and interview he does he makes some comment similar to this. "Schools like Tech", "Small Schools", etc. It is frustrating as a fan! I deal with that from all the ULM Tiger and Tech Tiger fans that believe we are and will be nothing more than a small school that needs to know our place.
Can't be. Our AD said we spent money on the new Turf last year. He wouldn't stretch the truth.

According to what I've seen on other forums, stAte asked after the list of 17 was published. A part of me thinks we (Tech) should do likewise. Then again, how does such an action play out among your conference mates and other conferences? Can stAte forget about hosting conference championships for baseball, basketball, track, softball, etc? Will other SBC members view stAte's action as "advertising" it's displeasure with the Sun Belt? Will other conferences believe stAte is merely stating it is ready and capable of stepping up to the big-time. Has stAte eliminated itself from consideration by AAC/MWC/CUSA for expansion because stAte has clearly shown its allegiance won't be with anything less than premiere P5 conference.
I've wondered how UTSA, FAU, FIU, UCF, etc. keep getting mentioned in conference realignment when they have little to show for their time in FCS and FBS. Is it because they are in or near big cities and big conferences think that equates to lots of TV sets? If that is the case, why isn't UNT or SMU a shoo-in for any conference other than the B12? Is it because those universities have big enrollment; i.e., UCF 59K, FIU 47K, FAU 30K (source: StateUniversity.com.) To me, as close as those universities are to major cities, empty seats at home games and poor following for road games equates to TV sets tuned to SEC/ACC sports. So, does the AAC and B12 believe Orlando sports fans will forget the SEC and ACC and start clamoring for everything B12 on TV/radio just because UCF joined the B12? That is like believing people in N. LA were going to forget LSwho and start asking for more Sun Belt sports programming because ULM beat Arkansas.
Having said all that, I have to give stAte credit for taking the chance. If just asking to be considered helps them leapfrog from SBC to AAC or (Lord help us) the B12 I am going to be EXTREMELY disappointed in Tech's Athletics Department. I cannot imagine the meltdown that would occur here and on ULL's forum.
