Two yards and a cloud of dust will never win a ball game. That will always leave you fourth and four and if you only make two more it's turn the ball over on downs time. Three yards and a cloud of dust will work if you don't mind going on fourth down every time. So if we hold them to two yards and a cloud of dust I will be happy. Of course I know what you mean, but you can't wear down the other defense if you go three and out every time.

We're down to two fully healthy QBs in practice (J'Mar Smith and Ryan Higgins).
True freshman QB Jack Abraham injured his meniscus earlier in practice Wednesday. It's unclear the severity of the injury. Abraham was spotted on crutches with a gimpy left knee...
Price Wilson missed his third day of practice with a hamstring injury. He suffered the injury warming up Monday. With Abraham and Wilson out, Ryan Higgins and J'Mar Smith dominated all of the reps.

Conspiracy facility...J Mar is listed as hurt in the next few days and Ryan has to play the whole game at Arkansas.

    Really? Good grief....

Thanks for explaining the math for us, Captain Obvious.

Geeez....did these guys all show up for August practices badly out of shape? I didn't know that 18-20 yr old kids could be THIS brittle. Hell, they haven't even put on the pads and started hitting yet have they?

I had just never heard of "two yards and a cloud of dust" before and I didn't think it was such a good strategy. As you can tell I really don't think "three yards and a cloud of dust" is so great either.

Bielema seems to be going a little more multiple this year. Last year he had those two NFL running backs. They lost a ton on offense at key positions yet their expectations are very high. im not sure their new QB and new tailback are as great as they are saying plus three O Linemen. They're still a big good SEC team, but I dont think they will challenge in the west. I'd feel better about it if we were going in full strength.

The term was always "three yards and a cloud of dust."

C.A. could only manage 2 yards. They threw an incomplete to HD on 3rd and 6.

From what I've read on here, Wilson would have a hard time stretching those hammies with the extra girth he carries.

Is Belton not on the team anymore? He would make it 3 QBs I believe.

Gray Shirt, Green Shirt, Blue Shirt...

Some color shirt. Very confusing. "2 yds and a cloud" HD can explain.

He's on the team and in fall camp.

Unless he has been added, he was not on the roster, but is fine to be in camp. I'm not sure he is any color shirt.

I suppose he could be red shirted w/out being on the roster.

Gray shirt means he would have to delay enrollment or limit hours taken (not a full time student)

Green shirts enroll early and are expected to play immediately

Blue shirt is very complicated and I don't think he fell under that one.

Like I said. Confusing as to what he actually is.

    Somebody here will know.

    Totally archaic

Today it would be more like "three yards and look carefully to see if you can spot some turf motes".
