Yes, they can play this year. Never enrolled at NSU. They asked for release after coaching change. The same thing applies to the two recruits who signed under Tyler and were granted a release ( Roper to Kentucky and McCoy to Virginia Tech).

It's interesting to remember how many of our fans criticized Mike White for "recruiting our recruits" when he left LA Tech for Florida back in the spring of 2015, but those same fans don't seem to have a problem with Brooke Stoehr practicing the same art. I guess your point of view on this issue just depends on whether you are the victim or the perpetrator.
