It's a new year.

Picked no higher than 3rd in the district. Some pundits have us lower than that in their pre-season polls. Fine.

Not a good start...
Rummel 28 University Lab 14 (1-0)
Big pass plays. New QB, off to a good start. But, gonna be a challenging season. We lost something like 40 seniors.
Rummel 21 Covington 0 (2-0)
HUGE challenge next week. Back to Mississippi.
Haynesville as made amends for two of the three defeats from 2015 - absolutely rolled North Webster (Springhill) and handled Union Parish (Farmerville)...
They have Junction City this week before they start district

Byrd graduate 95 seniors, so we're not doing so hot!
And my beloved Crimson Tide beat Haughton...
If only the Saints had won and LSU lost it would of been a perfect weekend -

Byrd reloads. But, 95 seniors? Woe!
(I'm sure there was a slight exaggeration in that number, eh)
about 38 according to this roster: http://www.maxpreps.com/high-schools...-15/roster.htm

We've had a pretty good run for about five years and we've had a lot of talent and we've played a lot of people. Even if we had big turnover like we had this year, we had a lot of guys that played a lot. Not so much the case this year. A lot of our backups last year were seniors also. We don't have the experience, we have some, but not the experience we've had," explained Byrd head coach Mike Suggs.
Lack of experience, so that means they'll only be really good towards the end of the season. Just in time for the playoffs!
Have a ton of respect for Byrd, the football program and the fan support are top notch. I have experienced what it means to be an opponent of Byrd three times, all in the playoffs:
Rummel 21 Byrd 20
Rummel 24 Byrd 35
Rummel 23 Byrd 22
Pretty darn competitive series!
Good luck to the Jackets!
Bye week. That school in New Jersey, where Rummel traveled to last year, bought out their return trip. I guess it's good to have a rest week with district play beginning now. Have some toughies ahead, especially Curtis and Martin.
D80 I'm very intrigued with the Curtis matchup -
I will be trying to follow it this coming Friday
