Fans may access audio-only for football, men’s and women’s basketball and baseball for free this year through the LA Tech Mobile X app or the Red Peach Media app or by logging onto either www.1075fm.com or www.espn977.com (whichever station the respective game is broadcast on).

Thanks to those who made this happen!

Except that it's a lie. The LaTechX app doesn't provide any audio or video streaming. It just links you to those websites. The new LaTechX app is a big fail.

"Louisiana Tech fans can access all live video streaming events that include coaches shows, press conferences, game previews, in game broadcasts (non-televised game), and postgame shows via the new CUSA.TV website or the new Louisiana Tech X mobile app which is available for download on the iTunes App Store or Google Play. Cost of a subscription to CUSA.TV is $6.95 per day, $10.95 per month and $99.95 per year (month and annual subscriptions are auto-renewal). "

More lies. Neither the press conference nor coaches show was streamed or archived on CUSA.TV. And the LaTechX app has no audio or video capabilities. Why does Tech continue to put things in press releases that are not true?

This is what they are told to put in the press release.

Some believe this was done so our external marketing and promo folks could add "web redesign" to their resumes. "Functioning web design" will probably not be used in the resume.

They were told before doing this that it added absolutely nothing and that it did nothing, but they insisted on "putting it out there." That too looks good on a resume.

BTW, free audio is what I was thanking those responsible for.

That doesn't explain why in the past they told fans they had to purchase an All-Access subscription to listen to Tech game audio when they could listen to most games for free via the Red Peach Media services like they are finally saying this year.

And the app development was outsourced anyway.

Ellenburger and our ADs were the ones insisting on charging for Audio. As soon as Ellenburger was fired and the new guy from Learfield came in he changed to a "free audio" policy, but never advertised it as free. As you know, Audio was free all year last year, just mis-handled from time to time by the radio station "switch flipper".

Ap development will go on some resumes even if it was outsourced.

So any football game can be watched on CUSA.TV with a subscription?

Sorry, Dawg06. I think you're nitpicking here Re: LaTechX

They never said it's a separate streaming platform. When I used it the other day for the coaches show, it was pretty easy. I clicked the link, it goes to the learfield audio stream, and the coaches show played. I don't see the problem.

Now, as to CUSA.tv, I think they should be called out for that.

Don't think so. They touted "free audio broadcasts" as one of the main features of the new app. We could already stream using the 977sports, z1075, and CSLive apps which are infinitely more useful than the useless LaTechX app.

If users can "access" audio and video from an app, to me it means you can stream the audio from the app and multitask with your smartphone. Linking audio to external websites in your phone's web browser means you can't access it through their app nor do anything else with your browser. That is a major usability problem.

LaTechX app with no audio or video capabilities + CUSA.TV with no app marks a big regression from College Sports Live/All-Access where all audio and video could be "accessed" and archived from one CSLive app.
