probably, but they are a fun little band. When we went to the game at Rice last year we played songs back and forth with them for about 30 minutes after the game. It was pretty cool and one of my favorite moments here at Tech.
They are definitely fun. And if they read this thread they might show up in a VW Micro Bus for fun an do a clown type exit.
Was on the sidelines waiting to take the field for our own halftime. No, they were not good. Some of the worst sounds I have heard emanating from a marching band ever.
TRR I remember that and it was fun. You guys were great and I actually thought it would be fun to see the two bands do something together at halftime - is that kind of thing done? Anyway you guys are great!
Now that I think on it, I remember them making fun of and mocking the BOP. I just thought it was "some band thing." One time they got up and danced when the BOP played some snappy, popular tune during a timeout. I don't remember the song....maybe you do. Perhaps a Kool & The Gang song, or something like that. Their impromptu dancing was hilarious though.
Oh well, tough day for them all around: 38-3, their band sucked (apparently), their mascot fell (no, was pushed) in the mud, and it rained to boot.

Rice band, seen their halftime twice. It was interesting, but weird at times. Overall, they are pretty annoying to watch and hear. I don't care for Scramble (scatter) bands.
The performance by the Rice band in 2001 at our Homecoming was very entertaining! Any of you remember their PA announcer during the halftime performance talk about their observations of Tech from afar. When he said "you can't figure out what of blue you are" it got a standing ovation.
I remember the time their home game with us was moved from Rice Stadium on Sat. to NRG (Reliant) Stadium on Sat. and finally to NRG on Mon. They thought they were making fun of us for not being able to find the game when actually it was them who couldn't figure out where the game should be. Or maybe they were making fun of the situation.
They can be entertaining though. What other marching band has a cello?
