Just curious. How would you have described the website address "LATech.com"??

Spell it all out like other web sites...

    L A T E C H.com

Didn't know we had more competition for L_ TECH :

My response was in your post. I edited rather than quote it. If they insist on spelling out the L A, they should spell out all of it.

    L A T E C H

I suppose everybody knows how to spell teck, but La can be confused for Lah. We don't need to encourage the h being inserted right?

The branding our brilliant AD at the time chose was LaTech - pronounced "LahTeck". Just say that...lahtech.com.

    We DID NOT brand ElAyeTech.com

So, if you were describing "LATech.com" to a radio audience, wouldn't you pronounce it "El Aye Tech.com"???

No, I'd say lahtech.com which is the way it is pronounced. Not ElAyetech.com.

    Whatever...

Our own people don't know how to market the Dooley pronunciation. They've been screwing it up from the beginning. More and more ignorant people continue to say ElAye Tech.

Overheard an "El A Tech" at the Rafters' game yesterday and heard "El A Tech" on local radio today.

HD, the bowling coach actually said to search for "El A Tech bowling" on YouTube because he live streams our matches on there. There's no such thing as LATech.com, but that's beside the point.

The point is Tech wants people to say "Lah" Tech while styling our name LA Tech and LATech, which of course is resulting in more and more people pronouncing it "El A" Tech just how it looks instead of "Lah" Tech. Tech does not want it pronounced "El A" Tech; yet Tech isn't doing anything to try to fix this problem they created.

The lack of a unified branding vision is one of the most frustrating things about Tech. It might seem irrelevant to some of you, but as long as we continue to do this, we are obviously still acting in a "small school" mentality. No better than the NWSt, UL-Ms of the world.

It's a good thing the MOB is a mere shadow of its former self....else they'd be all over this.

Worrying about how people pronounce our abbreviated name shows we are obviously still acting in a "small school" mentality.

That claim can't be further from the truth.

The bigger the business, the more they focus on their brand.

Feel free to point out the big schools that worry over how they are abbreviated or pronounced.
