Extra High Mid Major
I don't care what other teams do. I care what's best for Tech.
I just don't see any benefit of wasting a weekend series on a SWAC team other than maybe using it as a confidence builder. I would've preferred to open with a weekend series against Tulane, UNO, or SELA, but like I said, other than that this schedule is pretty much perfect for us. The good news is we won't have to return this SWAC series next year.
This year Tech won't play a single football, MBB, or baseball game in either of Louisiana's two largest markets (New Orleans, Baton Rouge) and only hosts one game against a team from one of those markets (SELA in MBB). Out of sight, out of mind. It's important for Tech to get exposure in those markets for recruiting (athletics and academics) and alumni engagement. Baseball has the least impact, but it's the easiest to get done. It's a shame we couldn't get a H&H deal done with Tulane in basketball with the Conroy connection.
according to The News Star today, NWSt was cancelled this season because Burroughs felt it was too soon for him and will resume in 2018. Tech & Arkansas will play again in 2018 w/ Tech making the return trip to Fayetteville. I can see Tech & Ark continuing the series after that as long as Van Horne stays at Arkansas
One month till Bulldog Baseball....Ya Gotta Love It!!!!

Thank goodness! We'll go to both if the times don't overlap.
