At the end of the 3rd quarter, USM and Texas both had 11 possessions, Tech had 6. If we had 5 more possessions, scoring TDs at a 50% rate, our score would have been 28.5 to 0. USM was 31-7 (with a defensive TD) and Texas was 34-7. How's that?
My head hurts. Check my math.
I think this is the correct math:
USM: 24 offensive points on 11 drives (2.18 points per drive)
Texas: 34 offensive points on 11 drives (3.09 points per drive)
Tech: 14 points on 6 drives (2.33 points per drive)
So with 5 more possessions at 2.33 points per drive, we would have had 25.67 points at the end of the 3rd quarter.
Focus
WKU added. Much better. Second half crashed, but we won.
Time of possession in the 2nd half:
LA Tech 22:36
WKU 7:24
WKU outscored Tech in the 4th quarter 21-3.
Just imagine had Barnes not nailed a 54 yarder. We would have went to OT, and I have ZERO confidence in winning in OT.
