Coach Holtz made a great point Monday at the Dawghouse, that if you look at the turnovers this year they are on pace to have around 6. Compare that with last years. The point it gave offense more chances at the football and not having the full 75 or 80 everytime to score. Defense is the answer for this and every season.

Against two very good P5's and an upper-level CUSA team.

The offense isn't the problem obviously. Higgins hasn't been perfect, but he's been pretty good so far doing what he's been asked to do. There will be someone who will say he's asked to win games, however, he doesn't play both sides of the ball. We are an average defensive coordinator away from being 3-1 or possibly 4-0.

I the day I expect or accept a loss to a program like middle is the day they close the lid on my casket.

Good thing I'm not the coach of this team. If my defensive coaches can't do better than this then hit the road. I will just do it myself.

I just don't understand why this isn't being talked about more. This is THE obvious issue with this team. Nothing else.
The offense is very good with suspect play calling at critical times. Special teams is adequate.

Besides our below average punting, I've been very pleased that we have yet to give up a special teams touchdown this year!

Two very good P5's?? Texas Tech and Arkansas are two mid tier P5's at best. Texas Tech hasn't won 9 since 2009! Arkansas hasn't won 9 games since 2011!! MTSU was in the SunBelt in 2012, and we beat them by 30 last year. When will we expect more from our guys? Not saying we should have won them all, but to say the P5's were way better than us is wrong, and to call directional Tennessee an upper tier conference team is wrong.

To me - it's easier to find 3 to 4 more points a game on offense with this team than it is to shave 7 points off the defensive side of the ball -

    That's a compliment to the offense -

Unfortunately - we have a growing list of mistakes at the qb position in critical times that could easily get us those points - so if that is criticism then so be it
