Assuming they are healthy, UMASS's front 7 is as good as we'll see this year. Arkansas is better. UTEP did a good job. UTSA is looking stout on defense. But, we'll have a tough time running the ball with any consistency. And, our short passing game will be challenged too. Which is our strength.
I watched a good bit of their game vs. Miss State. And their D, especially their starters, wore down and the wheels came off. They don't have quality depth. They have a weak offense which means maybe we can keep their D on the field and wear them down. Unfortunately, we have a horrific defense and that probably means UMASS will have some nice drives, giving their D some time to rest.
If both teams are at full strength, and if the game goes "to form," Tech will win 27-17. My prediction.
