As I was typing that I looked up if that actually has an effect. 7% of their enrollment is international students, as opposed to 4% for Tech.
So it's probably just Miami.
We may have the Dancy effect. I would assume players will play with heart and soul for him. When you see someone in your "family" fighting its big motivation. I can not imagine anyone on this team not giving 100% at this point. I do not believe they will be distracted or lose focus.
I believe the Duplessis effect was a very important reason Tech performed so well in 2012
I've thought about this and don't disagree, but keep in mind they players knew going into the UMass game. None of the teams we face before USM is any better than UMass.
So for a win today, defensively we need to contain McGough in the pocket so he can't "buy extra time" on a rollout and cover WR Thomas Owens #81 and TE Jonnu Smith closely.
If we can do that the sacks will come and McGough will get overly aggressive on his passes as X Woods will demonstrate later. Of course special teams and offense have to do their part.
My crystal ball says LA Tech 35 - FIU 21 in this one. What do you think?
I am on polar opposites on this one...
we'll either have a WTF game and lose, or just barely win, with a whew! OR! we're going to donkey-stomp them like we did to UMASS.
On paper, if all goes to form, as they say in horse racing, this game should be something like:

I'm just hoping we avoid the WTF game. We haven't had one of those yet, and this team has played pretty well every week. And our offense really does seem to be getting better every week.

I don't know but the opening line was Tech -14.5/70 and now is Tech -17.5/66.5
It opened at 18. Went to 16.5 and is now back to 18 on some sites.
