Basketball Lunch today at Rotolo's in Shreveport

NW LA TAG Preseason Basketball Luncheon with

La Tech Men's Basketball Head Coach Eric Konkol and

Lady Techsters Head Coach Brooke Stoehr.





The luncheon will be held at Rotolos on 1409 East 70th St. in Shreveport. Coach Konkol and Coach Stoehr will preview the upcoming La Tech Basketball season. Members of the La Tech staff will also be on hand with information regarding tickets and they will have posters and other promotional material to give away to those in attendance.


The seating for the luncheon will start at 11:30 a.m.
The cost is only $15.00 and includes lunch (Your choice of personal pizza, calzone, or spaghetti & meatballs, salad and a drink).

RSVP is not required but seating can be limited.

A smattering of Tech fans sounds like a cover for "poorly" attended -

It's gotten difficult for me to make these type of events - especially that far over - Bossier is a better get for those of us coming over from the hinter lands in the east

2 years ago, we had a SRO crowd. This year about 20 folks. Event was not promoted like in the past. 2 e-mails went out. 1 last week and 1 the day before. DS65 didn't know about it until I asked if he was going on Monday.

We need to have Alumni Association send out invites as well as NW LA TAG's e-mails.

TAG probably didn't have an e-mail he checks or SPAM filter at work stopped it from getting to him. I have to be be a better son and read the messages to him!

I would have loved to attend. Saw the notice here on bbb about 11:45 as I was having lunch about 4 blocks away.

Potentially our best baseball team since the 80s is playing the fall world series. LIke this event in S'Port, very little attention was given to something that should be used to generate season ticket sales and build a larger fan base.

We started asking about hosting this event two weeks prior but didn't receive the date both could come until Tuesday, a week ahead of time. This was going to be the only date they were available and the email went out Wednesday morning. The Alumni association was supposed to send out an email but didn't due to the IT guy was out of town due to a death in the family (and apparently he is the only one who can hit SEND). We sent out another email Monday morning the day before the event. I know exactly who opens the email and when they open it and the "Open Rate" on both these emails was slightly below average but not off drastically. It was brought to may attention that having an event on the 1st is never a good idea and I agree with that. We had 70 plus at the event two years ago at Rotolos but attendance was down last year at R&K's. We need more notice and flexibility from Tech on scheduling but frankly I while I think there is "interest" there is not yet real "excitement" about Basketball at this time. Especially before season and in the midst of a hot football team. I told both coaches a solution to this would be 30 Win Seasons - that always works!
