You can only watch the game through the watchespn app. Either your television has it or you have to hookup your laptop/tablet.

    To watch on laptop:
    1) go to http://www.espn.com/watchespn/

    2) Click blue "Watch Now" button on top of page (or any game link).

    3) A provider screen should popup.

    4) Choose your provider.

    5) You will be taken to their sign-in screen. Enter your account information.

    6) you should be redirected back to watchespn and can then enjoy the content!

    Using the watchespn app:

    1) Opening app should cause a provider popup to show if you haven't signed in already. Choose provider.

    2) That popup will turn into your provider's sign in screen. Enter account information.

    3) Enjoy the content!

What is the deal on why less games are on "TV" this year? We are going backwards.

CUSA can't attract prime broadcasters so we have to settle for beginners.

I've enjoyed watching this on ESPN via my cell phone on my TV while listening to Nitz & Allen on the radio. Wish the sync was closer because the radio is a minute ahead but I can live with it. If I had to listen to just the ESPN feed I think I'd turn it off and just listen to the radio...can't stand the announcers on ESPN.

I hooked it to my tv and it was MUCH better this time. There were a few minor problems - screen froze a couple of times and sound went out for a few seconds, but MUCH better than the ESPN3 with FIU. I am ready to get back to watching us on REAL tv, though.....

Very true. The cord-cutters are taking massive money away from ESPN. ESPN survived on a huge number of people paying for ESPN in their basic cable package, but not watching ESPN at all. These people (who don't watch sports) are finally wising up and realizing that everything they watch can be had without paying cable and ESPN.

The bubble will affect all sports TV contracts cause the money lost due to the cord-cutters will affect the bottom line, with no respect to the sport or pro league. This is the MAIN reason Tech and our current conference needs to be self-producing all of our sports. Then, sell the finished perfectly wrapped product, game-by-game, if need be. Could even sell this game-by-game product to P5 conference channels, just for filler content. That's basically what ESPN did.

Some people call the MAC, "the Little Big 10". They should have their product on the Big 10 channel. CUSA should do the same with the SEC network only because we are in the same footprint.

Personally, the only sports I watch now are college football and Tech sports. So, I will subscribe to Sling for the football months and then cancel. I will then subscribe to the on-line site to watch Tech sports. That's it.

Good analysis. That solves our individual problems of finding and watching Tech games.

But....(you KNEW there would be a "but", haha!) assuming we DON'T get access to the SEC network --or something similar-- how do we (and schools like LA Tech) EXPAND our customer base (e.g., CUSA fan base) past our own small network of fans that we already have now? One of the huge advantages of an "ESPN" --or some similar TV network-- is that they show our product to millions of non-LA Tech fans in every market. I was in a bar one night in downtown Chicago, looked up, and there was LA Tech and Boise St playing on the bar's TV. How do we replace that?

So, in this climate, how do we (and other schools like us) "go to market" to expand our current base?

You market to the available market, not those you hobnob with at the club. A family of four should be able to attend a game for well under $100. Under $75 is iffy around here.

Example: A family of four could have driven to Denton yesterday in a non-gas guzzler, parked ($10), purchased tickets ($48), and paid for gasoline for the same price they could drive from Monroe to Ruston and sit on the east side where tickets alone cost that family $74. Our guys are clueless about the people they need to sell to.

A family of four can't attend a Wednesday night MBB in Ruston for under $75. That's in the "cheap seats".

They could have saved $10 if they parked on campus and walked an extra 5 minutes like we did!

Yep. And our UNT game tickets were only $12. I'm guessing LA Tech charged you guys more for the same tickets?

Because Conference USA's old TV deal expired.

Remember C-USA turned down a TV deal with Fox Sports. C-USA could've landed many more games on TV for a lot more money if C-USA's board would've agreed to Tuesday and Wednesday night games on FS1 and Saturday games at 11 AM on FSN. C-USA told Fox, "Thanks, but no thanks," and I applaud the decision (although I think a good commissioner would've been able to work out a nice compromise with Fox). The increased TV exposure and money isn't worth killing our fan base with midweek games and morning kicks. Ultimately, our fans in the stands should be prioritized over fans watching on TV. Now we get Saturday 6 PM kicks (when college football is supposed to be played), which is best for fans who can attend.

Then ASN significantly expanded its inventory beyond C-USA and thus decreased its C-USA inventory. CBS Sports Network did the same by adding AAC, MWC, and MAC games to its portfolio and reducing its C-USA inventory.

The handful of C-USA games added to the ESPN family wasn't enough to make up for all those losses.
