Nolte: Donald Trump Leaves Office with 51% Approval Rating
On his last full day in office, President Donald Trump enjoys a 51 percent approval rating, according to Rasmussen Reports, one of only about three polling firms that have a proven track record for legitimacy and accuracy. Most of the other polls are crap. Rigged. Fake. Not worthy of anyone’s time.
Trump’s disapproval rating sits at just 48 percent.
There are a lot of media polls that show Trump’s approval rating in the low forties, and even in the thirties. But, over the course of the last few election cycles, we have learned that these are almost all fake polls, rigged polls, polls that in no way reflect reality. And we know this because when the ultimate poll is taken on Election Day, the media polls are all wrong. The whole point of media polls is to mislead, demoralize, and deceive the American people into believing Trump is less popular than he really is.
Time and again, Rasmussen has proven to be reliable and accurate, which tells us the insanity of the Capitol Hill riot and the corporate media’s determination to blame the president for it — even though he expressly called on that crowd to be respectful and peaceful, even though he almost immediately called for the anarchy to stop once it began (which is more than any Democrat has ever done) — is not penetrating into the electorate at large.
People don’t trust the media and are not listening to the media, and why should they? The media have lied about everything for nearly a decade now.
So basically, all this unfounded left-wing hysteria is affecting absolutely nothing outside the corporate media bubble, even though the hysteria has gone so far that we now have to look at the kabuki theater of the military shutting down Washington, D.C., which includes fences covered in razor wire. This is all being done in an effort to fool people into believing Trump supporters are some sort of danger to His Fraudulency Joe Biden’s inauguration.
Oh, and did you know there is no evidence of any threats against His Fraudulency? That’s right, none.
What’s more, in this particular poll, Trump’s job approval rating has actually INCREASED since the Capitol Hill riot. What had been a 47 percent approval rating on January 7 is now a 51 percent approval rating, a bump of four points in approval.

That’s cause Newsmax lies. If you want the real details on the poll, here they are.

One key point that newsmax, which is not a legit source by any measure, missed is that then approval rate looks at more than people who actually voted, in this case over 20 percent of their surveyed group did not vote.
Educate yourself.
President Donald Trump will leave office with 3 million less jobs than when he was inaugurated in 2017, marking the worst presidential job record since the Great Depression.
He's been a remarkably poor leader throughout the COVID pandemic (to say the least). And well, just in general. Terrible president.
But even I wouldn't pin jobless rates on him compared to when he took office.
You can make a case for him as a terrible president, but you can't do it with unemployment data that is tied to a global pandemic, however mishandled it's been managed.
As for the polls, it's a little telling when your argument is "everyone else is wrong, but we're the only ones getting this right." Bit of the "one secret tip for gaming the system" clickbait spam in that approach.
What I think is telling, even if you don't want to get into methodology (which is still important, especially before you go down the tin foil hat trail of "they're all lying because the other pollsters have Bill Gate's chips in their brain and George Soros paid for it all" ) you could maybe look at approval ratings by a particular survey group and how they've changed over time. In theory, even if there is some bias built into the polling (which I would argue is the case with Rasmussen) as long as they're consistent in their bias you still might get a relative look at where things stand (for whatever it's worth).
Problem is the number of jobs in the American economy (or any other from that matter) is also a function of how well you handled the pandemic.
Part of Trump’s huge failing was failing to recognize that the economy and health correlate positively. It was never disease control vs the economy. Controlling the disease is the key to the economy.

Yeah, I get that and agree.
But you can't just use raw numbers for that case. What you'd have to compare is current (real) jobless rates to some sort of projected better outcome based on a different federal response to the pandemic.
I think you could probably make a case like that but it'd be purely theoretical and wouldn't be just "look at the current rate vs 4 years ago."
The reality is that the economy correlates more strongly to factors that are not government policy. In fact the Federal Reserve’s actions have a more direct and correlated impact. But business cycles will happen regardless of who is in the White House. Businesses will be disrupted by technology and competition regardless of who is in the White House. Those things will cause unemployment rate to go up and down.
If Trump was getting credit for the economy before the pandemic then he gets blame when it tanks.
