Now, Trump is creating DOGE, Department of Government Efficiency (?, I think that's its name), with Elon Musk and Vivek R. in charge. Well...this makes sense, er, want to decrease government wasteful spending, well, create a brand-new bureaucracy which will become another Dept. of Education....yeah, that's the ticket . Let me hasten to add, Trump is saying this will NOT be another federal agency, but it will operate outside of the government as a partnership of some kind. But already, Congress is questioning how such an entity can "legally" operate and have authority over other government agencies unless it too is sanctioned/authorized by Congress. I like the concept, it's the practical application that concerns me. We'll see.

John Thune (South Dakota) has been elected as new Senate Majority Leader, replacing the fossil Mitch McConnell. MAGA supporters wanted Rick Scott (Florida) but Thune says he and Trump have mended their past disputes and will be working together to Make America Great Again. It is done, so I hope so. We don't need another Swampy, wishy-washy GOP Senate leader.

Matt Gaetz nominated to be AG. Glad he'll be out of the House, but here we go again, Trump has reduced the slim GOP margin even more. Yeah, sure, chances are very good that the GOP will win his vacated seat, but those special elections can't happen for months, and in the meantime, Trump WILL be thwarted in the House because he has reduced the working margin.

Our very own, and my cousin via marriage, Speaker Mike Johnson is on it! Very comforted by his statements made yesterday on the filling of these seats. Gaetz's seat could possibly be filled prior to Trump taking office. Johnson said he spoke to Govenor DeSantis by phone and urged him to set the special election date for early January, which under Florida law, would be the earliest possible. As for the other vacated House seats, especially Stefanic's in crooked New York, forget it. Won't happen until the crooked governor is forced to by NY law.

The good thing about Gaetz being out of the House is there one less self-serving ignorant GOP member to gum things up. Hopefully his wing "man" MTG will agree to go along with the GOP caucus and let's get some things done.

Gaetz is a distraction pick. Nothing more. Trump went as far right as the demoncrats have gone left with their recent pics. Gaetz' immediate resignation was a brilliant move in the political game of chess.

FWIW, Gaetz actions along with the few other anti-swampers is what got us Mike Johnson instead of McCarthy. That was a good thing.

Just saw a YouTuber video claiming Trump has set up Gaetz. Now that Gaetz has resigned he is officially out of the House, and now the Repubs in the Senate will vote NOT to confirm him as AG rendering Gaetz unemployed. Hmmm....
