Exactly, the democrat ran away from the Dems and Hillary's liberal platform and in fact said he wouldn't even vote for Pelosi as Minority Leader.

This was the only race on a ballot and a seat that will only exist for 8 more months. While candidates always matter, this is a district that Trump carried by 20 points and this race was one where he campaigned for the Republican. This race was about voter enthusiasm and it was a referendum on Trump.

I didn’t realize Republicans supported ACA. People that do that are called socialists on this forum.

Anybody who votes for somebody because they like Obamacare is either sick or stupid.

I didn't say Lamb was a perfect (R), just enough of one. And I doubt VERY seriously, that issue was what motivated voters in SW Penn to vote for him. If that was such an important issue Krooked Killary would have faired better there. Nah, you just can't admit your side is losing on the issues.

The worst part of the ACA, the mandate, has already been fixed. So if any voters were concerned about that, it was rendered a moot point and would not have factored in the decision-making process.

Do you maybe think that Trump's opponent was such a evil, entitled POS that these folks had no choice but to vote for him?

I would look at the big picture and say the whole thing looks like a referendum on Hillary to me. Had the dems fielded a decent candidate, they could be in the White House now.

Might seem that way if you knew absolutely nothing about the political history of a district. This is a very red district.

Much like the elections after Obama was elected, the friends are complacent and the foes are motivated.

This happens after virtually every presidential election year.

I am hoping the dems see the success of this candidate (if it holds) and start running people that actually love America and want to do things to make us a better nation instead of trying to divide us by identities and destroy us. I'd like to see a dem party that doesn't act like a child in the corner holding its breath because it did not get what it wanted.

Of course, you still have the California issue......

    Re: President Trump

One of my libtard friends offered an explanation for the Penn election, and some others like it. She said voters think they have gotten or will soon get out of Trump just about everything he has to offer. Yes, the tax cut is good. Yes, eliminating the mandate on obummercare is good. Yes, doing something about DACA and immigration in general is good. Yes, standing up to NOKO is good. Etc... but all of those things have happened, or will soon happen, so America benefits from what Trump brought to the office....but he also brought a lot of baggage (her words, not mine)...and now American voters are seeking to reel him in.

Interesting take, I suppose. But then, given that the party out of power (not in the WH) historically does great in the mid-term election, this may be more a case of just American politics than anything related directly to Trump. Remember! a very popular POTUS, Bill Clinton, got clobbered in the '94 mid-terms as the GOP swept to power in Congress.

Bam! kick Dodd-Frank to the curb! About effing time.

Senate has passed a bill to roll back the ridiculous regulations of D-F. Bill goes on to the House next. Trump will sign this important deregulation legislation. Small businesses, local and regional banks, and entrepreneurs denied financing will all benefit from this bill.

Yeah, it was never about anything other than slowing down the economy. Banks are in business to make money and they make it off the customers. I don't care as long as they are able to make loans with less red tape. Getting all PC on how they evaluate loans was so swampish.

Plus Republicans love bailing out banks when they lose everything on risky investments.
