Barry Sanders is hardly center right.. He's an admitted socialist and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez worked for him. Socialism has never worked anywhere in history when tried. The U.S. is way to big for anything like that to be successfully implemented here. Minimum living wage, free college, free healthcare Who would pay for this? Everyone.. in order to fund something like this, EVERYONE would be taxed at least 50% probably closer to 70% of their income. Why would anyone want to work and only make 30-40 cents on the dollar?

Socialism has mostly worked for the Nordic countries and most of Europe. It can only work in small, homogeneous societies. We aren't that. And it's starting to be under intense pressure there because they are all slowly becoming medium to large, non-homogeneous societies.

People would work under even those conditions you list because they still have to put food on the table, a roof over their heads, and pay other bills. Businesses know this, you should by now, too.

I think most of us will agree on Barry Sanders. I think he's the best RB ever. Others have him in their top 3, behind Jim Brown, and maybe Walter Payton. Can't argue against that; both Brown and Payton were awesome. But then, so was Gale Sayers. All great ones!

This is a stat promoted by the "Feeding America" charity. Obviously, it is in their interest to inflate this number to increase contributions.

The income determined to be poverty level in the US is about 18 grand a year. That is truly sufficient to feed a family. In 1920's money, that is about $1,300 a year, which was the average salary for that time (construction workers earned far less), and the families were much larger then. Even if you assume everyone living in "poverty" is suffering from hunger, only 12.7 percent of the population is considered poverty level yet they claim over 16% of the population is living with hunger. Amazing how people will just accept negative statistics because they think it makes them appear sympathetic.

Are there people who are hungry in America? Yeah, probably. But the same type of folks that are pushing that "1 out of 6" statistic are the ones that are saying we should not bring these inefficient manufacturing jobs back to America, which is where a lot of our middle class came from. So these folks would rather give someone that is hungry an expired can of spinach than a job that would not only feed them, but also improve their self esteem and make them a productive member of society.

That’s not how stats work, that’s how opinions work. The two are not to be equated. To defeat stats, you have to interact with methods and show the methods to be faulty. You probably could’ve come up with something about 5 minutes on Google.

You’re confusing being right and being lucky. If all you’re working on is your hunch, you remember when you were right and forget when you’re wrong. If you’re working off more than your hunch, I’d love to see it and interact with it myself. Of course, all my requests for quantification have been turned down.

I’ll concede that working off hunches is easier.
