I do remember a time when Trump made up a lie about Democrat voters after the midterm elections: “When people get in line that have absolutely no right to vote and they go around in circles. Sometimes they go to their car, put on a different hat, put on a different shirt, come in and vote again. Nobody takes anything. It’s really a disgrace what’s going on”
Sure there are crazy people on both sides of the political spectrum. But POTUS candidates are painting all Trump supports in this light, not just the small fringe crazy white nationalists. Trump hasn't called all democratic voters "garbage" or "nazis".

Surprised you didn't comment on the Rassmussen poll that state almost 1/3 of all democrats think if you disagree with a political candidate of color that you are racist.

I can make a better case that you are and support terrorists than you can make of Trump being a racist or his supporters being "white nationalists". You are such an idiot!

1/6 of Republicans also thought so. I am no longer surprised what people think.

Trump does count white nationalists in his base. I haven’t suggested that it is the majority, but in a close election it can make a difference.

“To the country you came from” or “where you came from” is the key phrasing. Why do you think people don’t use this language with white people?

I will tell you - is it because it reflects the racial bias that America is a white country. No one quickly associates you or me with having another home country other than here. If you are a person of color, there is a pervasive subconscious bias that you are lesser American.

    Re: President Trump

Three of the 4 women he directed that comment to literally came from America. They did not come from another country. What did he mean - where was he suggesting that AOC came from? Where did Pressley come from? Tlaib?

This same type of perverted thinking supported the Obama birtherism conspiracy that he supported. This guy has a history of revealing his innate racial biases and lending offense and defense to racists and xenophobes. It is wildly inappropriate for someone that is POTUS and it damages the fabric of our country and threatens the stability of the world because other racist leaders know they won’t be called out by America when they oppress their minorities.

You feel this is a good thing for the leader of the party that (putatively) represents the nation's traditional Judeo-Christian values?

Like I said, there IS a double standard. What of it? If Republicans are truly the party of higher standards, they should embrace it.

To clarify -- I've never registered as a Democrat, and I rarely vote for them.

As has been discussed before, at some length, media companies are profit-driven and will produce whatever material they feel will drive viewership, revenue, and share value. (that's called "capitalism", btw) They're under no obligation to deliver you fair or unbiased news. If you dont like it, dont watch it.

I dont know about others, but I do not condone bad behavior from any public officials. I dont care their color or creed -- classy is classy and mean is mean.

    Re: President Trump

So, President Trump then ordered his jack-booted thugs to physically grab the Odd Squad and take them back to their home countries. No? That didn't happen? Oh..okay…

Ah! as a result of his saying that, someone else forcibly deported them. Well, that's not good. Oh, but wait, that didn't happen either!

Oh! Congress just voted to deport the Odd Squad! Only, that hasn't happened either.

At the end of the day, all we have is an exchange of statements from all parties involved.

Gee, I'm glad I don't take name-calling, going or coming, seriously. That would take a lot of the fun out of social media, I mean if we're all as thin-skinned as some of you are.

I am Irish....good ole Irish scum...we have been kicked out of every decent country on Earth! Understandable since we are all a bunch of drunken fighters! A good ole Donnybrook! What else can you add? We're not too bright? We build ships like the Titanic that sinks when it hits a frickin' ice cube!? Tis true! Pile it on...we can take it.

But media companies aren't suppose to out right lie their arses off either (Fake News). I actually heard a working journalist state, "The media, news networks and journalistic news in general was the 4th power of government".

I do agree with your last sentence.

Been offline for a few days. Didn't mean to imply that you did. I was just stating that calling someone a leftist or a liberal is the right wing equivalent of the other side calling people racist. "I don't agree with you and you make me angry so you're just a _____." The words lose meaning when they are thrown around inappropriately.

That ship has probably sailed unfortunately. If you have a bunch of Charles Manson's running around killing people with no repercussions, yeah eventually everyone is going to go around killing people.

But you do. And it's a big part of why we are in the situation we are in. You're statement about media companies above is a snippet of the issue and I completely agree with it by the way, as long as you don't try to present that same media as fair and unbiased news.

Donald Trump is what emerged from the breaking point. People wanted somebody who wouldn't go on the late night shows that made fun of them and play nice. Who wouldn't appear on SNL next to their impersonator and make jokes. Who wouldn't shrug off the negative stories in the media, but would fight back. I actually agree with those things, but I didn't think Trump was a good choice to be that person. I have been surprised at how much policy I agree with Trump on and the fact that his critics still don't understand how and why he got elected tells me nothing is going to be done to improve the situation.

    Re: President Trump

Trump has proposed new guidance in the food stamps program designed to reduce the rolls by tightening the eligibility...i.e. those on the high end of the income bracket. If completely implemented would reduce spending by several $billion annually. Haven't heard much about it yet, but I expect the usual suspects to protest loudly and push back simply because it is Trump proposing it.

Some of you have been asking about fiscal conservatism, and this is just another in a long line of proposals, many changes, President Trump has championed. Not all of his proposals have been fully implemented or even started because The Swamp in the form of the bloated bureaucracy has ignored the mandates. But, of course, the ever-increasing debt is Trump's fault. NOT! If all of his proposals had been adopted we would be running a surplus in the budget by now.

The lamestream media and the gullible who actually believe it, who know nothing of these proposals, remain blissfully ignorant.
