Again....COMPARTMENTALIZING
In terms of their military service to our nation, yes, I hold them all in high esteem. Of those you listed John McCain is the most disappointing. Almost to the level of Benedict Arnold himself, almost! Both McCain and Arnold checked all the boxes to being GREAT AMERICANS right up to the moment...they weren't. No, historically I don't equate what McCain did to what Arnold did (or TRIED to do!) just that they both acted in totally self-serving ways and the good of the nation be damned!
Back to Bob Dole, the original subject of this portion of the thread, what did he do that caused you not to hold him in high esteem? I honestly can't think of anything, other than being a blah candidate who stood no chance of unseating Clinton.
Nothing. My comment was not regarding him, rather your comment of reverence. I have a limited amount of respect for those who served but certainly not reverence.
Lies...
the commie lamestream media is full of chit, which most of us know, and they will stop at nothing in a vain attempt to discredit "Trumpism," which is the term used to describe the notion of supporting Trump politically. It's an old, tired, yet somewhat effective trick to label your opponents as something "bad" from history or even fictional movies, for instance, Darth Vader's Stormtroopers. Well, when you know history and some source tries to pass off a lie as "historic fact" then you know the rest of what they have to say is BS too.
One of the latest iterations of such a lie is a recent lefty article published by MSNBC that claims that Trump supporters are displaying a black American flag as a sign of "no quarter," and went on to say that...and this is so ridiculous it is comical....the Confederates of the War of Northern Aggression flew a black American flag to indicate no prisoners would be taken. Think about that one for a moment...
I have seen every Confederate flag known to exist (er, I mean photos of 'em) and not only did they not have a black American flag, they had no black flag of any kind. Neither side did. The thought of not taking prisoners, of murdering those enemy soldiers surrendering was so foreign, so against everything they stood for...again, BOTH sides, that they would be sickened by the mere mention of it.
How righteous were the Confederates, and I mean the army, the soldiers, not necessarily political leaders? At the end of the war, April, 1865 when everything was going bad for the South, and they had every right to be desperate and maybe push the envelope, they didn't. Outside of Petersburg, Virginia, General Lee ordered an attack against the union position known as Fort Steadman. This attack was designed to serve as a diversion allowing other Confederate units to vacate the trenches and make a run for it. The units chosen to lead this critical attack was the Louisiana Tigers, the remnants of the Louisiana troops still fighting, about 2,000 soldiers. The attack would take place in the pre-dawn darkness, to hopefully catch the defenders by surprise and allow the fort to be captured. Then when General Grant's boys were busy trying to retake the fort, Lee would slip away with as many troops as he could.
Well, the Louisiana boys didn't like the idea of a "sneak attack." It didn't seem fair, and was no honor in it. So, just as the Tigers were approaching the fort, a sergeant stood up and yelled, "Watch out, Yanks, we are attacking!" This is the measure of the honor that was common in not only Southern soldiers, but their Union counterparts too.
I can't speak for every "Trumpster" and what is in their hearts. But I will not tolerate lies being told about the gallant average Confederate soldier. A "black American flag"? Ah...no.
As usual, follow the money. Pence certainly is.

First on Fox: Lawyers for the Clinton campaign paid a technology company to "infiltrate" servers belonging to Trump Tower, and later the White House, in order to establish an "inference" and "narrative" to bring to government agencies linking Donald Trump to Russia, a filing from Special Counsel John Durham says.
Looks like Goosey may have been somewhat right about Russian Collusion.. It just wasn't Trump that was doing it..
I am sure he is curled up with his Trumpy Bear in his Giza sheets right now crying in his My Pillow.
What was the BIG LIE again?
All that stupidity was eye candy for the easily duped....and he is just that. And he had the audacity to come here and call someone a fool!!!! LOLOLOLOLOLOL
Forced removal from the case should be automatic based on these statements. And removal from the bench along with disbarment proceedings would be too lenient for this clown.
OUTRAGEOUS: Corrupt New York Judge Overseeing Case Says Trump Should be Prosecuted Because "He's Just a Bad Guy" (thegatewaypundit.com)
"Every American — and certainly the president of the United States — knows that in a democracy, leaders are elected, not installed. With a plan this 'BOLD,' President Trump knowingly tried to subvert this fundamental principle. Based on the evidence, the Court finds it more likely than not that President Trump corruptly attempted to obstruct the joint session of Congress on January 6, 2021,"
Surprised no one has posted about this one yet.
