The irreducible base is the portion that supports a president no matter what he does. Every POTUS has a number. Trump's is projected to be around 22% whereas Nixon was 28% IIRC.

Some might say, obummer was incompetent, an empty-suited moron. Nah, I don't think so. I think he purposely tried to destroy America. No one can be that stupid. His decisions, his policies cannot possibly be the result of naïve, misguided thinking. It's like he was captain of the Titanic and people are left scratching their heads wondering how/why he hit one ice berg, than another....couldn't he see them? Didn't his lookouts warn him of ice bergs ahead? It was no accident. He purposely steered the ship into disaster.

Trump has been brought aboard the wallowing ship. It struck ice bergs, had been taking on water, lives were lost. It was the remaining passengers who called for Captain Trump to come save the ship. Now, the holes are being patched, power restored to the engines.

For instance, the national debt is $19.8 trillion. That is bad. But, the CBO has stated had obummer, or his policies, still been in place, which they would've been under Killary, the debt would have reached $20.1 trillion last month. Not a huge difference, that is a "mere" $300 billion, but, better, and certainly a step in the right direction. This marks the first time, since GWB's first year in office, the debt has shrunk, and only the second time since 1997. Trump is saving the sinking ship.

If it's the latter, I fail to see how commonality makes it unimportant. Commonality may show that there is a concerted effort to discredit Trump (which I doubt anyone here, whether they voted for Trump or not, would disagree with), but it doesn't show that Russian tampering is not a big deal.

It's neither. It is a big deal. It is just something we the people never hear about. We are only hearing about it this time because it was used as part of a political agenda to manipulate people's opinions. Like BR stated...had Hillary won, we'd never have heard about it.

I think I agree with you on this. I would say that the fact that politicians are trying to use it as part of a political agenda in order to manipulate opinions just means it's like any other thing in politics. That doesn't invalidate concerns over it. Hypocrisy of the electorate is reality regardless of what side of the isle you're examining. It has no bearing on the importance of the issues...admittedly, it greatly effects what issues we're considering.

And just as I figured, he raised the meddling issue many times during their two hour talks.

Not because it is a new threat (it only became an issue because Trump won), or a credible threat (no vote tampering and very little difference between the hack of the DNC - which may or may not be Russia - and the recording of Romney talks behind closed doors...just that this time the dems got caught with their hands in the cookie jar). Trump likely used it as a bargaining tool to bolster his position and improve the likelihood of the USA getting a good outcome from the meeting.

It's nice having a successful business guy as president rather than a community organizer or political hack who feels it is "their turn"!
