There is not one single part of Obamacare that needs to stay in place. NOTHING about it is good. That's not Trump's call, it is the call of the GOP cowards. Thank goodness for Cruz and Paul.
I don't have the time at the moment to go back and look it all up, but I do know that a VAST majority of them ran on repeal AND replace. Trump talked about how crucial it was to have a replacement.

We've already discussed Trump perpetual insistence on pre-existing condition coverage, so I won't plow that field again.

The best thing that ever happened Obamacare's approval rating was the GOP's bungled repeal/replace quagmire.

    Yeppers!

I remember when Killary was lamenting a "vast right-wing conspiracy" and connected the GOP to the plot to discredit her. One of her fellow democraps scoffed at that silly notion with: "GOP conspiracy? The Republicans couldn't organize a bar-be-cue."

Exactly, but it's not Trumps fault they are so screwed up. Imagine dealing with a bunch of cowardly losers who make up the GOP who actually go for what their constituents don't want instead of what they do want.

Enough of the GOP having the majority. That's not at all true. The Socialist have a majority in the House and the Senate.

The corrupt DC establishment has the majority in both, that's for certain. They're all bought and paid for by DC lobbyists. We'll see in 2018 if they'll get away with voting for the will of special interest groups and against the will of the majority of their constituents. Until we drain the swamp of all these criminals in DC, nothing is going to change.

He had a window to lead shortly after the election. He pissed that opportunity away by being unpresidential.

A POTUS with an approval rating around 36% has much less influence.

Not true, he has NEVER had the window. You are regurgitating CNN's fake news.

His voters are still behind him. Perhaps if the pollsters would get out of New York and California to take a poll...

CBO is now reporting premiums will double with Obamacare repeal. So good luck with that strategy!

CBO? Really? You think those people are reliable? They have not been right in 20 years.

They won't. They may not get reduced much, but they won't increase.

    Re: President Trump

Obamacare will get fixed, just like our national debt will, but only after our economy crashes and burns. Trump is this nation's last chance and our pitiful Republican party is about to blow that chance. The Democrats have been a lost cause for a long time now and there is no hope of ever restoring that party to any kind of normalcy. It now appears that the Republicans are no better. It looks to me like the party's over.

The current level of entitlement spending is simply not sustainable. Anyone that has ever balanced a checkbook understands this. I think we're going to experience an economic depression that'll be more severe than the Great Depression of the 1930's. If we do, the suffering throughout this country will be horrible, especially in our big cities. My advice to anyone who'll listen is to get prepared. You'll need ready access to secure shelter that includes guns (with shooters), ammo, water, food, and an alliance with your neighbors. Prepare now. Once the SHTF, it'll be too late.

I HOPE it doesn't come to such strife, civil unrest....riots and worse. But, it's ridiculous to think "no way, won't happen." It might.

The nation has already suffered a bloody civil war, so don't think the good ole USA is not capable of such things. And, the next civil war will be much, much worse too! It won't be nice, neat sectional factions with armies in the field, adhering to "rules" of war. It will be wanton, indiscriminate murder in the streets....and retaliation. It will be an ideological conflict, and it will take time for the "sides" to sort themselves out. AND! if it gets bad enough, such that our military is divided and taking sides, we will be open to foreign intervention, even invasion. Of course, the whole world will sink into open conflict, a true World War. With the US involved in its own civil war, the bad guys around the world will take that opportunity to do "bad stuff."

Whoa! that's a pretty bleak picture. Hopefully clearer heads will prevail and the powers-that-be will stop and think about the consequences before allowing it to get to that boiling point. There are those...anarchists, funded by the George Soros of the world, who will seize the opportunity to throw fuel on the fire of any spark.

Thomas Jefferson said: it's not only the right, but the responsibility of the people to change the government. [when it is no longer serving the people]. I think the election of Trump is the first shot fired in that philosophic movement. From the opposite political viewpoint, the success of Bernie Sanders is another indicator that the American people have tired of BOTH the 'craps and the Repubs, and the old Washington establishment. I pray we citizens will resign ourselves to use peaceful means, the political system, to make change to our government.

    We don't want/need armed conflict.

Having lived through Katrina (in Baton Rouge) and witnessing first hand what things can look like when normal society breaks down, I think I have a pretty idea of what we'll experience if ever the SHTF. Immediately after Katrina hit, shopping center and mall parking lots in Baton Rouge filled up with evacuees from of New Orleans. Everyone behaved pretty well for a day or two, but then some began to behave like animals. Law enforcement was not be able to be everywhere to protect everybody and even trying to go anywhere in Baton Rouge became very unsafe, especially after sundown. A good rule of thumb is to be able to shelter pretty much in place for about 30 days. A new normal will be established by that time and things will have gotten better.
