I can't remember the last time we played well off a bye. I am always worried.

Went back and looked:

Dykes was 2-0 after bye weeks, remember in 2012 we didn't have a bye because the aTm game was moved to week 6.

Holtz is 3-1. Had two bye weeks in 2013, lost to UNT and beat USM.
Since then we have struggled, but won, over UTSA and UTEP.

So, we are 5-1 after bye weeks, dating back to 2010.

Bye week is different this year than the past two, at least. Its coincides with finals week instead of being the week before finals week.

That is probably a very good thing. Maybe it will help keep everyone eligible for the championship game and the bowl game. Was it 2014 when the quarter system cost us 5 or so players down the stretch?

In 2011, Tech lost 19-17 in Hattiesburg.
In 2010, Tech lost 13-12 in Ruston.
