    Re: Week 13 Games

Hopefully UTSA & UNT can take care of business and C-USA can fill primary spots.

    Bowl Eligibility outlook http://www.usatoday.com/story/sports...ball/94164634/

The 40 bowl games require 80 teams to reach the threshold of six wins. Currently, there are just 66 teams at the magic number. One of those is Army, which has two victories against FCS opponents. According to the NCAA rule on bowl selection order, the Black Knights will be placed ahead of teams with losing records even if it doesn't beat Navy on Dec. 10.
There are 44 teams with seven losses unable to reach six wins. Hawaii is 5-7 and can reach six wins Saturday with a victory against Massachusetts. The would follow Army in the selection order as determined by the NCAA.

That leaves 16 teams having an opportunity to win their way into the postseason before 5-7 teams are become eligible. Their records and remaining schedule:

    Akron (5-7) - at Ohio
Arizona State (5-6) - at Arizona
Boston College (5-6) - at Wake Forest
    Indiana (5-6) - vs. Purdue
    Louisiana-Lafayette (4-6) - vs. Arkansas State, at Louisiana-Monroe
    Northwestern (5-6) - vs. Illinois
    Maryland (5-6) - vs. Rutgers
Miami (Ohio) (6-6) - vs. Ball State
Mississippi (5-6) - vs. Mississippi State
North Carolina State (5-6) - at North Carolina
    North Texas (5-6) - at Texas-El Paso
South Alabama (5-5) - at Idaho, vs. New Mexico State
    SMU (5-6) - vs. Navy
Southern Mississippi (5-6) - vs. Louisiana Tech
TCU (5-5) - at Texas, vs. Kansas State
    Texas (5-6) - vs. TCU
    Texas-San Antonio (5-6) - vs. Charlotte

    Vanderbilt (5-6) - at Tennessee
With 14 or 15 spots available, it's an almost certainty several 5-7 teams will be needed to fill out bowl slots. Those candidates are selected by classroom APR.Here are the top teams by APR in contention to finish with five wins and get their way into the postseason.
    Duke - 995
    Northwestern - 992
    Vanderbilt - 990
    North Texas - 984
    Boston College - 981
    Indiana - 979
    Maryland - 977
    Notre Dame - 975
    Syracuse - 973
    UCLA - 972
    Texas - 971

    Mississippi State - 971

    Re: Week 13 Games

We need UTSA & UNT to win now. We need as many C-USA teams eligible as possible.

Currently 68 out of 80 necessary teams are bowl eligible. North Texas is probably going bowling win or lose. UTSA must win. I doubt Texas will accept a bid at 5-7, but you never know.

    One win away (13)
Teams listed in APR order. APR Rating in parenthesis. Remaining opponent listed for each team.
    Northwestern (992) -- vs. Illinois
    Vanderbilt (990) -- vs. Tennessee
North Texas (984) -- at UTEP
Boston College (981) -- at Wake Forest
    Indiana (979) -- vs. Purdue
    Maryland (977) -- vs. Rutgers
    Texas (971) -- season complete
Northern Illinois (970) -- season complete
Arizona State (960) -- season complete
Ole Miss (958) -- vs. Mississippi State
UT San Antonio (956) -- vs. Charlotte
    Akron (947) -- season complete
    SMU (941) -- vs. Navy

I don't like Ohio State's helmets. Look like para-military body armor headgear. Maybe if their pants matched the color, but as it is, they look goofy.

OSU wins the game regardless, 24-13.

I could not care less about UNT, USM and UTSA getting bowl bids. That's such a crock. And if CUSA has to "suffer" because we couldn't fill all our bowls, I'm okay with that.

Yeah, I know all the "benefits" that you will say we --and CUSA-- get from filling all our bowl slots, but frankly most of those teams have NO BUSINESS being in a bowl game anyway. The fact that anyone in America would buy a $40 ticket to go watch a 6-6 USM team play 6-6 Idaho, or a 6-6 UNT team play a 6-6 Miami of Ohio, is fascinating and quite disturbing at the same time.

    LOVE IT!!!

Penn State is messing up the powers-that-be grand plans for the anointed ones to be in the playoff.

And, although I am not a Penn State fan, I am happy for Nittany Lion Nation that success has returned and that program can move on from that horrific scandal.

No matter what Ohio State will be in the play off. Even if they had lost to Michigan (which they didn't) they would still be there.

Okay, do we want to go to Bowling Green or Norfolk? It will probably be snowing in Bowling Green.
