While I am not happy with the teams performance yesterday, the silver lining from this fan is that if we do play in Bowling Green I can attend. Only game that's been driving distance for me, the wife and kids since Marshall.

Humble pie is a good motivator. It might even give us an edge in preparing for WKU.

Winning the conference championship matters more than that game. If we do that, nobody will be talking about how we backed into the championship game--they'll be talking about how we won it. For G5 teams like us, I don't think people pay attention to whether or not we finish the regular season with 3 or 4 losses--it's pretty much the same thing. What's remarkable is whether or not we are the conference champions. That's the thing that carries over into next season more than anything else.

As for a chance to host, the players/coaches didn't earn that right. That's on them. However, I am seeing a chance for rain next weekend which leads me to suspect that hosting it (in S'port) quite possibly would have been a bigger embarrassment than losing the right to host it.
    Have you considered those Dogs?

As long as TMac is here, I'm not excited to see any schedule created within 50 miles of him.

There's no air left in the balloon.

Even if LA Tech beats WKU and wins the CUSA championship, we won't be able to say "we're the best in CUSA", because we all know we were used and abused by a lower tier conference mate. Unfortunately, this performance against USM has changed everything.

Yes it has. We recruit head to head with Southern Miss. Trust me when I tell you that this was more than another loss.

I pray that this LA Tech team makes it to the Bahamas Bowl or Hawaii Bowl. Because if they go to the HOD Bowl, I will feel "obligated" to attend. But if this team goes to the Bahamas or the Hawaii Bowl, I will feel no obligation to attend. After yesterdays piss poor effort by the team AND coaches, I don't want to incur the expense (I bought 10 HOD tickets last time, and put 10 people in 'em.) and endure all the trouble of attending a bowl game if we're only going to get a half ass effort like yesterday.

But maybe a decent home crowd for the first game. And I don't mean because it's NSU. We won't be coming home after a road loss for our first home game.

IMO the loss Friday was not as bad as last year. We were all good after the bowl game.

IMO the losses at ODU and Marshall hurt worse than Friday. We were all good after the bowl game.

I wanted to celebrate Friday, but instead left with my head down and embarrassed. It will be all good eventually.
