You're mistaken '06. In the early years, one WAC team was always omitted from each WAC team's football schedule each year. For instance in 2001 --the first year LA Tech won the WAC title-- LA Tech did NOT play Hawaii. In fact, Tech did not play Hawaii in 2001 or 2002, and did not play San Jose St in 2003 and 2004.

For the 2005 season, the WAC dropped from 10 teams to 9 teams, when it lost Rice, SMU & Tulsa to CUSA. Those schools were replaced by Idaho and NMSU. That was the first year (for us) that every WAC member played each other in football.

True, but my point still stands. C-USA has always been several members larger than the old WAC, and thus we miss more conference opponents.

Heck, our first year in C-USA we did NOT play any of the TOP FIVE (!) teams from C-USA East (Marshall, East Carolina, Middle Tennessee, Florida Atlantic, UAB)! We drew 1-11 FIU and 1-11 Southern Miss instead.

No. Teams rarely discuss injuries and not nearly as much as they did 15 years ago. The NFL only does it because Vegas demands it, but they say they do it in the spirit of competition.
