Well represented!
Impressive for Tech in a 13-team conference.
The superlative awards will come out tomorrow. My guess is whomever WKU nominated gets the MVP award (Taylor or White), and Tech's nomination gets the offensive POY award (Higgins, Taylor, or Henderson). The real question is who got nominated because I think each team only gets 1 nomination per award.
Wilder probably gets Coach of the Year.
Defensive Player of the Year?
Freshman of the Year?
Newcomer of the Year?
Special Teams Player of the Year?
This is how far Higgins came this year. CUSA board was ranking the QBs before the season started....
Tier 1-"Elite"
1. Nick Mullens-USM
2. Brent Stockstill-MT
3. Chase Litton-MU
Tier 2-"Solid starter"
4. Alex McGough-FIU
5. Mike White-WKU
6. Kevin Olsen-CHA
7. Zack Greenlee-UTEP
8. Ryan Higgins-LT
Tier 3-"Could be replaced mid year"
9. David Washington-ODU
10. Jared Johnson-UTSA
11. Tyler Stehling-RICE
12. Alec Morris-UNT
13. Jason Driskel-FAU
He did well!
For a "rebuilding" team not bad on the record or these awards.

proud of our offense and Higgins did fine job BUT Mullens missed several games ( concussion) ... that's probably why he was not first team..
this is weird because when season started I was hoping for 8-9 wins. Conference division and play for title and a Dallas bowl. Offense surpassed my expectations and so did defense but in a negative way. This season boils down to "what If " ... will be remembered as good year but SO close to being great .... beat Navy would sure pep me up..
I guess White could win MVP, but he didn't get 1st team all conference. So if it's WKU choice it should be their Taylor.
Carlos would make sense, since he's 1st Team WR and 1st Team KR.
We have the best kick returner in the conference and some don't want him doing it. #stoopid
It's just a really odd year for C-USA awards. IMO the best players on offense were 3 receivers (Taylor, Taylor, Henderson), 1 RB (Jones), and 1 OL (Lamp). UTEP was terrible so that eliminates Jones. That leaves you with the 2 best players on each division champ: 3 WRs and 1 OL. There's no way on OL wins one of these awards because they have no stats. Has anybody other than a QB or RB ever won C-USA MVP or OPOY?
Way to go Dawgs. Well represented. Proud of our Dawgs and excited about the future of Louisiana Tech football.
