Listening to my duck hunting friends...Smilies don't taste bad enough to cull these days and count toward the limit.

Who was the first one to test that theory?

Probably started out in a gumbo and evolved to "duck wraps". They say PBR and Jim Beam will intensify the taste buds.

Maybe need to talk him into allowing more afternoon hunts at different points in the season.

have to admit, I was staring down a coot the other day but just couldn't make myself to it. one of those years, three in row. Something, I hope, has to change.

We never had enough water in the upper fields til the last week or so and the levee to the south field got washed out in the spring flooods. The South field was proving to be our best field and we planted millet in it. I'm working on him to let us hunt evening more but you know how that goes We're planning on putting a levee on the canal that will split the two upper fields apart and flood the east field properly with the pumps and hope for the man aupstairs to do the rest so we can at least have good water for 1st split. Definitely our poorest season yet on the property.
