Not good with WKU between sec clubs(probably will be moved to Thurs. making a short week after MSU), USM on 10-21(what happened to the season ending rivalry) and travel to UAB(probably forever if like CUSA BB tourney).

I'm ok with the Rivalry in Dixie being moved. Holtz has thrown in the towel the last two years after the championship game was locked up, maybe this will motivate him to actually coach that game.
I have a feeling that USM will be moved to Thursday/Friday night. And maybe the Rice game as well.
It is important to note that all games are subject to date changes and some dates are expected to move in the coming weeks in order to accommodate national television. A schedule of televised games will be released at a later date.

September is going to be pretty tough. I do like getting USM earlier in the year....it's breaks a bad trend for us. That final game against UTSA in Ruston could be very important.
I wonder if Homecoming will be on Nov 8th North Texas
This schedule is designed to allow us a most special year. Only one opponent coming off a winning record, a record seven home games and an SEC team at home! This schedule should provide a CUSA championship game in Ruston. Wish we didn't draw WKU, but it is what it is. Double digit wins should be a very realistic goal. I honestly think anything less than ten wins would be a little bit of a letdown. Only three games give me much pause: WKY, Mississippi State and South Carolina. I think we are better than South Carolina and am only concerned about that game because it is an away game. I like our odds with State since they are coming to the Joe. Western Kentucky will be a challenge as always, but they do have a new head coach, so you never know. As a matter of full disclosure I am under a doctor's care for a recent minor injury and have taken a prescribed pain medication today, but I think we could run the table next year. 13-0 would get us in an access bowl. My question to everyone is would 12-1 with a loss to WKY or Mississippi State early in the season couple with a CUSA Championship get us in Group of 5 access bowl ticket? I think it would unless someone from the AAC goes 12-1 or 13-0. Look forward to what everyone else thinks about our chances.
After graduating yet another QB, we could go anywhere from 6-6 to 13-0. Especially since we lost our top two WR. Our youngins better be ready to contribute. We're straight up better than at least half of the teams on our schedule, but there are toss-ups to me with MSU, WKU, USM, and USC. And who knows how FAU will perform with Kiffin at the helm. UAB is also a wildcard seeing as we have no info to go off of from the past few years.
I feel like I said the same thing after last season. Just too many unknowns at this point to know how 2017 will play out.

Not lumping you in, but with our peeps using the "rebuilding year" excuse before the first game along with loss of Dixon, QB, and loss of key defensive players many of our fans were negative going in last year.
Like last year we will be fine at receiver, QB, RB, and much better on defense.
Last year we were not much better on defense (than 2014 or 2015), though I'll allow much of that was Courtney Wallace being out. Though I don't believe you meant to say that we were. I hope we are much better in defense next year, and I'm quite positive about our interior run defense with Wallace being back in. I think we'll get 10 wins next season, whether we do better is up in the cards...
I don't think anybody thought we'd have a better defense in 2016 even w/out the injuries.
Of course I meant we'd be much better on defense in 2017.
