They mentioned 5 or 6 players as the likely high choices. Neither Henderson nor Taylor were mentioned. But, if the pickings are so thin, that should bode well for our two guys to go higher than they might have in another year.
I heard that same conversation during that game. Those were true P5 homers, though. They probably don't have a clue who is available from the G5 conferences.

Please guys stop hoping for the saints for our guys. Don't curse them like that. The saints have don't nothing since their super bowl besides waste 5000 yard passing season from Brees and let Sean Payton go. Saints can't run the ball, protect the passer, or stop anyone.. hell, all they've got are good young receivers.

Corey Davis, is a 6'3 215 lb WR for WMU. The Cowboys want him.

And this will be sacrilege to a lot of our fans, but I would draft him over Carlos every time...

Bigger, stronger, just as fast and better hands and hasn't had the nagging injuries

He just appears to have more upside than Carlos

I agree. I had pretty much this same discussion last week with "theprofessor", who as you know doesn't exactly excel at listening. In fact, I quoted Lou Holtz, who one time said he preferred big and tall guys over fast guys, because late in the 4th Qtr --when everyone is dog tired-- they are still big and tall.

I'm not a Jerry Jones Cowboy fan, but how can you compare the Cowboys and the Saints history? Just over the past 10 years? W/out looking it up how do the records compare for the past 10 years?

You're changing the subject. Now, my statement may not be accurate because the Boys may still lose their first play-off game.

It would be a surprise if he is picked higher than 40. At the same time, if his combine or workout numbers are average he won't fall past the 90th pick or so. Someone will take a chance on him.

He is very similar in height and weight to Brandin Cooks of the Saints - 5-10 to 5-11, 190 to 195 pounds. Cooks went to the Saints with the 20th pick in 2014. Being that small to get to that pick, Cooks had to be a polished WR that won the Biletnikoff and that had a history of durability along with incredible combine results. He ran a 4.33 40, along with shuttle times 3.81 and 10.72. Incredible numbers.

So in a way Carlos is stuck in the 2nd or 3rd rounds. Combine that with money issues and him declaring does make sense.

Let me add something to this post. In looking at the last 5 drafts, no WR under 6-0 has gone in the first round without running a sub 4.4 40 either at the Combine, their Pro Day or in a private workout. Odell Beckham, Brandin Cooks, Phillip Dorsett are all good examples.

At the same time, an elite receiver who could be a difference maker in the NFL - and I would put Henderson in that category - isn't going to fall far even with average measurables. Jarvis Landry is maybe the best example of that. He ran a 4.77 40 at the Combine but only dropped to pick 63.

Nagging injuries over his career and average measurables would cost Carlos, but I still think he would drop no lower than pick 90. But really good measurables - a sub 4.4 40 and really good shuttle times - might push him into the very late first round or early second round.

And in the end we really don't know what kind of workout times Carlos may be able to post. Perhaps only Carlos and Kurt Hester really know what Carlos can do. Whether he should come back or not is dependent on numbers that just aren't out there that I'm aware of. At least not yet.

Yes a good year for them finally after decades. However, let's see how far they go.
