Please guys stop hoping for the saints for our guys. Don't curse them like that. The saints have don't nothing since their super bowl besides waste 5000 yard passing season from Brees and let Sean Payton go. Saints can't run the ball, protect the passer, or stop anyone.. hell, all they've got are good young receivers.
''Don't be a bad dagh..."
I agree. I had pretty much this same discussion last week with "theprofessor", who as you know doesn't exactly excel at listening. In fact, I quoted Lou Holtz, who one time said he preferred big and tall guys over fast guys, because late in the 4th Qtr --when everyone is dog tired-- they are still big and tall.
Let me add something to this post. In looking at the last 5 drafts, no WR under 6-0 has gone in the first round without running a sub 4.4 40 either at the Combine, their Pro Day or in a private workout. Odell Beckham, Brandin Cooks, Phillip Dorsett are all good examples.
At the same time, an elite receiver who could be a difference maker in the NFL - and I would put Henderson in that category - isn't going to fall far even with average measurables. Jarvis Landry is maybe the best example of that. He ran a 4.77 40 at the Combine but only dropped to pick 63.
Nagging injuries over his career and average measurables would cost Carlos, but I still think he would drop no lower than pick 90. But really good measurables - a sub 4.4 40 and really good shuttle times - might push him into the very late first round or early second round.
And in the end we really don't know what kind of workout times Carlos may be able to post. Perhaps only Carlos and Kurt Hester really know what Carlos can do. Whether he should come back or not is dependent on numbers that just aren't out there that I'm aware of. At least not yet.
