Furthermore, logic would suggest that increased ticket prices (adjusted for inflation) have not caused a decrease in attendance today...when you compare attendance numbers.

    1. Students need a reason other than "ever loyal be". Sad but true. Been that way forever.

    2. Ticket prices are not related to current demographics which vary greatly from 30 years ago. I'm all about logic and increase ticket prices is EXACTLY what is keeping the "average Joe" family of four out of the TAC on Thursday and Saturday nights. Our brilliant marketing team has no idea that they need to do more than tweet a day or two before the game.

Change their compensation from salary to performance-based commission. Maybe then they'll get off their haunches and actually do something.

Really? That's your take from that picture? Sometimes you don't live in reality. It's not telling them "SIT, DON'T STAND!" It's telling them where to congregate, something that I can't believe has taken until 2017 for us to finally do. When I was in school, students spread out throughout the building. We had no true student section, no united voice. We had several small pockets of voices, and unfortunately, some of those small pockets fought against one another instead of working together (I was just as guilty as anyone else). This is something that is desperately needed!

For a family of 4 (2 adults, 2 youth), it costs about $60 to watch a basketball game in the TAC. If anyone believes this is a good idea, go ahead with that. But for me to drive over and back from Benton, pay $60 and then go pay an additional $35 to eat at Dairy Queen (because they sponsor the game) is a serious expense. That's about $125 for a game and I'm not going to do it more than a few times.
    Have you considered those Dogs?

    Same.

It cost me $105 for 3 to attend FGCU game and $73 for 2 to attend the UTEP game plus a trip to Cane's afterwards cuz we didn't want Aramark hotdogs.

Note to Tech: It ain't worth it.

The blue seats are too expensive, and you are false advertising ticket prices on your website.

Maybe if they create a fun atmosphere with an engaged student section, turn out the lights for intros, better concessions, etc. it may be worth it.

What I want to see is % of student populations at comparable schools and big time schools who attend sporting events. How do we compare to peers and upper level schools.

Peers? Who would you say our peers are in MBB fandom? I'm telling you it is a regional thing. NOBODY in the south cares about basketball the way they do in other regions.

We have to work extra hard to bring in students, alumni, and potential fans. Our arrogant and ignorant AD and and his sidekick are clueless about the most simple things.

I guess my comment really considers all sports.

The only other sport that matters is football. Our AD has managed to run students off when the student attendance should have continued to grow. In 2015 when we had 6 home games we had two bad weather games with one of those being when school was out. Our AD gets a small break on that, but 2016 was a total disaster for football attendance as a whole. Like the "wear blue" campaign, student attendance had grown due to grass roots efforts. All we need is a little help from the Admin, but instead they keep doing the things that have not worked over and over.
