Shouldn't we be reading about a new contract extension for Skip Holtz about now?

"Pay Da Man"
he should be the highest paid coach in CUSA
The man has done good things here. He deserves the raise for his coaching, recruiting, building, pulling a rabbit out of his bag when needed, and just about everything he has done.

No salary increase. Instead keep salary as is and offer incentives. Such as
$100K bonus for winning CUSA championship
$100K bonus for finishing in the Top 25
$25K bonus for each win above 9 (So, run the table and finish 14-0 = a $125K bonus)
$25K bonus for winning a bowl game (no bonus for reaching a bowl, that's expected and is part of his salary base)
And other incentives in the $5-10K range for academic successes for football players: GPA, graduation rates, etc..
Dr. Guice said a few weeks ago that it was in the works. It is.
I agree that there should be incentives attached or at least more specific incentives than what are there currently. I doubt he will go for it though. He is currently in control and calls his own shots on when/where to appear, but I wish he'd become a larger part of our marketing effort. He seems to be concerned about his assistants salaries, but he has confirmed what many here have posted, that if our assistants aren't being sought after by other schools, they are not doing a good job.
Incentives for nonconference FBS wins
Good suggestions.
Whatever the details, the point is more emphasis needs to be placed on performance-based results. This needs to be true for all in the athletic department from coaches, to the SID, to the marketing folks, to the AD himself.
I agree and think he deserves a bump in base salary. 750k-850k
For anything a million plus, I would only offer incentive based. As dawg80 mentioned above. I would make max incentives to put his contract in the 1.2 million range... access bowl bid, top 25 ranking, 10+ wins, C-USA championship, etc...
Also assistants pay incentive based too. Top 40 defense, top 40 offense, awards, etc...
ah yes, lets give the man who can't beat Southern Miss or win the CUSA 1 million dollars
