    Re: Good Guys Strike Back!

"You kill them on sight, you don't bus them to safety," said a Whitehouse spokesman.

US aircraft took out a bridge and cratered the highway to block an ISIS convoy given safe passage by Lebanon and Assad's Syrian government. The US did not strike the vehicles directly as reports say they were loaded with women and children, apparently the families of the ISIS soldiers trying to escape Iraq. Lebanese officials praised the move stating it cleared Lebanon of ISIS units. But Iraqi officials were miffed as those ISIS units had been trapped and just waiting to be annihilated by Iraqi forces. US commanders on the ground got a very quick OK to block the escape of the scumbags, who are now trapped awaiting repair of the highway and bridge. Diplomats on all sides are now discussing what to do next.

Meanwhile, upon learning of this, Kurdish units in Syria and Iraqi army units just across the border are moving toward the stopped convoy. Both the Kurds and the Iraqis will follow the US's lead on this. We'll see what happens next.

For me, I say give the ISIS scum one chance to release the women and children into allied hands. Like, you have one hour to start them walking toward us. Then once they are clear, attack the convoy with everything we have. Now...on the other hand, who knows how sympathetic the women and "children" are to the ISIS cause. We've already seen ISIS "children" brutally murder people. One episode the ISIS kids got to play a real life video game, and hunt down handcuffed, unarmed captives in a building, and shoot them on sight. The whole thing was on video, and produced like a movie with background music and everything. It was disturbing, brutal murder....kids no more than 11-13 years old shooting people in cold blood. Point is...maybe that convoy needs to be wiped out as is.

In other news, not surprisingly, the Turks are playing stupid games in northern Syria. Turkish-backed forces fired on Kurdish and US units in an effort to prevent us, and the Kurds, from occupying territory vacated by ISIS. US forces fired back, and the Turkish-backed units backed off. No casualties reported on either side. The Turks HATE the Kurds and that matter will rear its ugly head after ISIS is crushed.

SDF has retaken the Old City in Raqqa. Remaining ISIS forces are now squeezed into the center of the city, in an ever-shrinking perimeter. Estimates are 2,500 scumbags are left. They are hyped-up on drugs and are launching maniacal suicide attacks against coalition forces. ISIS has dug tunnels all over the city and are using them to pop and attack the good guys. These are isolated, limited, and uncoordinated attacks, so they are quickly snuffed out.

Syrian sources, in the SDF, call retaking the Old City an important moral victory. ISIS is known for destroying others' history, and that includes the physical manifestations of such history.

It won't be long now. ISIS resistance is crumbling quickly in Raqqa.

US aircraft are hovering near that stalled ISIS convoy, picking off scumbags who try to flee.

US-backed SDF units have entered Deir al-Zor region, north of Raqqa. On Friday two US aircraft starting an attack run against ISIS forces were waved off as Russian fighter-bombers swept in from a different direction attacking those same ISIS units. There is concern now that the Russian/Iranian-backed Assad Syrian forces, and the US-led coalition of the SDF (spearheaded by the Kurds) are in close proximity of each other. Already, a third party, the Turkish-back forces have fired on the Kurds near Deir al-Zor.

US sources have assured all parties, we have no designs on invading Damascus. But a Russian spokesman expressed concerns that the US-supported Kurds would be so bold, and acknowledged that it was doubtful that Assad's forces could stand up to the Kurdish army. Diplomats on all sides are working overtime to head off an incident that might turn "allies in the war on ISIS, against each other."

Right now all these factions have a common enemy, ISIS. Once that threat is removed....

I pray we (the US) don't turn our backs on the Kurds. They have become staunch allies, dependable and supportive of our efforts. They are Muslim, yes, but pro-western in their politics and culture. Tell ya what, now that the Kurds are properly equipped and armed, woe be the fools who take them on militarily. What they don't have really, is air power. They have depended on US for that. The Russians, and the Turks, have powerful air forces that could support Assad's army in a war with the Kurds. That won't happen if we stand with the Kurds. PLEASE, don't leave them hanging...

Assad's Syrian Army has recaptured an airport in Deir Noir. ISIS forces, what was left of 'em, surrendered to Assad's troops rather than be taken by the Kurds who had also breached the bad guys' defenses. But the Syrians got onto the grounds of the airport first and ISIS soldiers went running toward them, and even those on the far side...the eastern side taken by the Kurds...were fleeing toward Assad's troops. I suppose they expect better treatment by the Syrians.

Syrian TV showed their soldiers celebrating the victory. Scenes with the goats had to be edited out for worldwide distribution.

OK! I made up that part about the goats...

    The latest...

SDF units have tightened the circle to about a square mile, centered on a major hospital and a stadium, separated by an open plaza where the rotting heads of ISIS victims remain stuck on posts. A Kurd commander surveyed the plaza with his binoculars then stepped down to address members of the world press. In 2014, he began, ISIS paraded thru that plaza daily, showing off captured military equipment and torturing and murdering innocent people. Our special forces have gotten a look inside the stadium....it is even more gruesome, he said.

ISIS is down to 400 combatants, it is thought. But they are hiding behind women and children at the hospital and the stadium. ISIS continue to use tunnels they have dug to connect the sewers and they pop up behind SDF lines, often inside of a house, emerging from a trap door in the floor. Advance has been slowed by having to "watch our backs" the Kurd commander said. Also, ISIS has covered the area with booby-traps, often strapped to civilians. US advisors predict it'll all be over in about 10 days. The Kurds say it'll definitely be over by the end of October. An all-out assault on the hospital and stadium is being planned.

That will leave the region of Deir al-Zor where Assad's forces, supported by the Russians, and the SDF, supported by the US are competing to get at the crumbling ISIS resistance.

Fully expected this. It has begun. Now that ISIS has been crushed in most of Iraq, the "nationalists" who are Iranian-sympathetic Shiite, have retaken the city of Kirkuk in a pitch battle. The Kurds retook Kirkuk, and the important oil fields, from ISIS in 2014 and have held it ever since...against counter-attacks by ISIS. No one helped the Kurds at any time. Now, when the Kurds have shifted troops out of Kirkuk to help in other places, and left only a small garrison, the Shitte Iraqis launch a major attack.

This is only the beginning, and unfortunately it's going to get ugly.

    RAQQA HAS FALLEN!!!!!!

ISIS is completely crushed in their self-declared capital. This is like Berlin falling at the end of the war in Europe, WWII.

Also, US airstrikes take out two ISIS camps in Yemen. obummer refused to "widen" the war and would not allow us to strike targets in Yemen (and other places). But Trump said BS to that!

OMG! the pics coming out of central Raqqa. Hitler's Nazis were whimps when it came to atrocities compared to ISIS. Bush league! that's what Hitler's henchmen were. They couldn't hold a candle to the evil perpetrated by ISIS.

Kill 'em all! Destroy ISIS wherever they are, without remorse. They are roaches that need to be exterminated.

Russian/Iranian-backed Syrian forces have retaken Deir al-Zour City from ISIS. Not surprising as ISIS is crumbling and had mostly abandoned that city anyway. It does give control of those nearby oil fields back to the Syrian government.

    Re: Good Guys Strike Back!

Now...it's happening. Anti-American/anti-Kurd propaganda is being pushed by the evil forces of moooslism. English versions of Syrian media is being spread expressing concerns about American imperialism. Of course, there is just as much anti-Russian rhetoric too. Concerns of designs by both Washington and Moscow to seize territory. We have consistently assured both the Syrians and the Iraqis we have no such designs to occupy land there on a permanent basis.

Now that ISIS has been crushed in Syria, the talk has turned to driving out all "foreign" forces and influences. That would include the Turks as well. Problem is, all three "foreign" influences: the US, Russia, and Turkey have supported Syrians. A good portion, about half, of the US-backed forces are Syrian nationals, Syrian citizens, who have fought along side of the Kurds to defeat ISIS.

Oh, conspicuous by its absence is any mention of concerns over Iranian influences in Syria and Iraq. That should tell you who's behind the ridiculous propaganda.

Anyway, back on the ground...ISIS forces routed out of Brumakel (not sure of the spelling) were trying to get to fjords and bridges to cross the Euphrates River, but waiting on the other side were the US-backed Kurds. It was a slaughter. ISIS lost 1,000 killed and another 500 wounded and captured in about 30 minutes of intense fighting....the Kurds supported by US air power. The remnants of those ISIS forces retreated back into the desert, seeking to hide in caves and such the best they could. Russian-backed Syrian forces are now mopping up those ISIS scumbags. US-backed Kurdish units were told, by the Syrians, not to cross the Euphrates in pursuit.

And now, the pro-Iranian propaganda machine is pointing to the US-backed Kurds holding all the key river crossings as evidence the US has long term intentions to hold territory.

After ISIS is finally/completely defeated there will be brutal civil war in both Syria and Iraq. And Iran will try to exploit it to their own benefit.

They have tried, but the Arabs don't like the Iranians (Persians). About the only times Saudi Arabia gets actively involved, and that usually via financing, is when it's obvious the Iranians are meddling somewhere, especially in traditional Arab-held territory. The Saudis have financed some operations in Syria and Iraq, but they have been very clear they are involved ONLY to the point where Iranian efforts have been thwarted. Then they take their ball and go home.

The Saudis have been accused of supporting anti-Israel operations by mostly Iranian-backed groups. But, those in the know say otherwise. While the Saudis MIGHT turn a blind eye to a group attacking the Israelis, they will NOT tolerate any Iranian-backed group getting too powerful. The Saudis, and thus most of the Arab nations, like Jordan, play a game of being BOTH anti-Israel and anti-Iran.

But, if the Arabs don't exert a little muscle in Syria and Iraq, as they have heretofore been reluctant to do, the Iranians will seize that opportunity through their proxy groups of Shiite mooslim terrorists.
